Alpha Help

When looking at my map if I zoom out beyond 25 yards I lose all dog tracks. Now when you go to the compass screen it only shows one dog. I used to have all three of my dogs on the bottom of the screen now it just has the one. I dont know what happened but I must have hit something.

.

Select the dog page and then hit the menu bar at the bottom and from the list select SMALL NUMBERS.

For the Zoom issues go to the following, start on home page
SET UP
MAP
select down arrow
ADVANCED SETUP
ZOOM LEVELS
MAP POINTS
See what that is set on. Turn that off or try auto

Might be easier to do a master reset and bring it back to factory settings. But you loose and waypoints and tracks. most other stuff will stay on it.
With it off hold finger on top left of blank screen. while holding finger turn it on and if you did it right it will ask if you "really want to erase user data" tell it yes and go through setup.

Thank you Bruce. I got dog list back but still nothing on tracks. Going to remove birds eye and try it that way.

Bruce I went with a guy the other night. He had a t5 and 320. I said let me add your dog on my alpha. I added it. His 320 lost it. He added it back. My alpha lost it. You have to do something special for this or something?

You can't track a t5 with both at the same time.

I have had the same thing happen with mine it would only show the track when zoomed way in. For the life of me I cant remember if I went to dog setup or to tracks but I just hit the restore default and everything started working correctly again.

Well took off birdseye (saved to my library so I could load back) went to reload some of it and can not because my subscription is out. Guess you only keep it if you save on a card your basecamp does not matter. Still nothing on tracks though.

Ridgerunner I had this happen before also but what fixed it did not this time. Last time I think I changed my unit measure and it fixed it. Nothing I have tried so far is working.

Yup that is what I meant for you to do like I said I couldn't remember what setting I had gone to for the restore default settings. And just like you I have no idea what I hit to make it so it wouldn't show the tracks after 25 yards on the unit.
Glad its working for you and if you ever figure out what you hit for a button to make it do that let us know.

Those fancy ones are not made for us country boys. Get your 320 back and a box of 22 shells for all other problems. LOL Bruce is the man to get you lined out.

Posted by Preacher Tom on 10-19-2016 04:42 PM:

I have had both the 320 and the Alpha, got my Alpha from Conkey's. Did not have any real trouble with either but my learning curve on the 320 was longer. I like just about everything about the Alpha. Especially the training capability and the ability to turn the collar lights on in the field. Also guess I am just more used to the touch screen from using smart phones. Here's an example of what I like about the Alpha, last night my buddy and I hunted, treed one coon, then a possum (Long time since we had had any of that) and then bayed a wild hog (never done that before). Because I had Alpha with T15 collars I was able to correct my young dog immediately and bring him to me. My buddy has 320 and so he could not correct his dogs and when the hog broke (ran between his legs) we could not stop them. These are pretty good dogs but last night was just different.
