The Hunting Dog Podcast

I have been listening to Ron's podcast for about a year now. His bigger vision is to include all hunting dogs in the show
Coonhounds, big game hounds, beagles, bird dogs etc. etc.

Just trying to spread the word, this could be a very good platform and a voice for us as a dog hunters.

Here is a link to the show, you can also DL the episodes through iTunes, podcast addict and other podcatchers.

You can also follow Ron on Facebook where he posts his shows as well as additional information on his guests.https://m.facebook.com/DancingDukeKennels/

I find it really helps the commute to work go by quickly.
Thanks for listening in advanced

A podcast is a term used to describe what is basically a radio talk show. The genius of it is that now that we have the internet anyone can do one on any subject. You no longer have to go through the traditional channels, like your local radio station. Another plus is they are typically free, they are for the most part commercial free as well. Some of my favorites are meat eaters, the hunting dog show, and Dan Carlin's Hardcore History.

If you have an IPhone, just go into iTunes, search one of those titles, or you can browse by category, I like outdoor and history.
Then select a show, and down load an episode. You then will be able to play it back where ever and whenever you would like.
Just make sure your on WiFi when you DL them.

If you have a droid phone, you will need to download an app called podcast addict. That type of app is what is known as a podcatcher, what it does is allows you to select your favorite podcasts, and subscribe to them. Once subscribed it will automatically download new episodes and delete them automatically once listened to. Once you have that app, you will want to use the search feature to find your favorite podcasts.

I think it's a great idea... we need to reach houndsmen, and more importantly, potential houndsmen by any means possible!

I think we sometimes look at things through only our perspectives... how we watch movies, or "TV" shows, or get our news, and we forget about the need to reach a younger generation, that does things very differently.

Neither am I, but hopefully there are some potential young Houndsmen out there, that listen to podcasts more regularly, than the average Houndsmen.

I feel the same at 33! Marriage and a family made me feel old fast! I checked out this podcast yesterday and I like it. I think that there should be a bigger presence of coon hunting, hounds, and the like on social media and podcast etc. Deer hunting and fishing are all over the place, but not so much coonhunting.

Ron Behne who does that podcast is a personal friend of mine. I bred my GWP female to one of Ron's male dogs about 12 years ago. Ron has already approached me about doing some podcasts featuring houndsmen. How bout some recommendations to forward to Ron as to who he should do a feature with?

I'm not sure what part of the country Ron is working in right now but that may be a factor in doing some interviews. Last I knew he was in the Virginia area and I gave him a couple names of some characters in that region. No shortage of those. lol We can definitely get this done.

Ron

I have been listening to his podcast since I seen this post. Not only is he funny as heck he is very knowledgeable about dogs but also gets good interviews I look forward to following him on his podcast for as long as he does it. I'm still getting Caught up on past interviews. Would definitely love to see more hound talk and interviews! I think we should have a poll on here to see who everyone wants to hear from like we did for the bloodlines interviews just a thought. I'm new in the ukc coon hound world my pup is only 13 weeks and I get a lot of info on training listening to him and Justin mcgail I think that's how you spell his last name. Anyway I think it's a great idea I bet rob will to he keeps saying he needs to get more houndmen on!

I had a great conversation with Ron, last week. He's very supportive of ALL sporting dog owners, locking arms and coming together to combat the antis.
