To Far?
How far is to far when it comes to buying a pup or breeding your female to a stud dog that you really want to breed to?
I've had guys tell me before that Va was to far away, then I've had one drive all the way from Tx to pick up a puppy..
I've driven from my house to Mike Dohoney's house in Indiana several times to pickup a puppy or breed to one of his dogs.
I've always thought if it was something a person wants its never to far.

I always thought that could also be a way of saying, I cant' afford the money or time to make that run. The farthest I've gone for a pup is from Iowa to Texas, and he was nice enough to drive an hour or more north, plus buy me lunch. Thanks again if you read this!

NEVER TO FAR
I agree, if you want it bad enough it's Never to far. Years ago I flew my gyp from New Orleans to Dave Dean in MI to breed to Sparetime Spanky. Where there is a will, there is a way, just depends on how bad you want it. As for buying a pup from way off, a good dog hauler is the way to go.

i work 6 1/2 days a week. Im not driving to far to breed a female. Its been 4 years since i bred a dog. I normally just buy a pup and have a hauler bring it. It cost the same to have them hauled from most any state so pick and choose from lots of litters all over.
Hobo I heard a rumor your stud Pride was in Ohio.Is this true?
100% true. He is at Mike Blackburn's.

To me there is no such a thing as to far.Miles are just a number to me.But then I'm a truck and am used to driving long distances.Years ago well back in the 90's when I lived in NC.I came in from CA parked my big truck got in my little truck and me and my wife went 400 miles to pick up a puppy. She thought I was nuts I think since I had just finished a 3,000 mile run.But if you want it enough nothing is to far in my opinion.

It's always nice if you can find them close. The last puppy I bought came from Illinois. I'd pay to get one from Cambodia if I thought he was the right dog. But, then again, I just don't give a G.D.
