Black dogs dominate

Akc world hunt. Two black dogs and two walkers. Black dogs dominated and win first and second. Congrats to Blain Vance and Riding Solo on winning it all. And Tim Waters with Black Hawk taking second.

Thanks for posting ths STROKON. I had no idea the AKC World Hunt was even going on, in the past it was always a winter world hunt.
Solo is a local dog raised and trained by Lucas Barkmen. Was Lucas handling him?
Congrats to Solo and his owner. Most consider him to be the best black dog ever out of this area.

Congrats to the Black dogs.Judging by the play by play that Solo dog is pretty indepedent. The few black dogs I've hunted against were right up my dogs butt the whole night.Kinda made me wonder if they could tree a coon by themselves.

Blain Vance was handling solo. Never got to hunt with him or hawk, but those two have been doing a lot of winning. Congrats to both dogs and handlers.

Actually according to the play by play Solo treed one coon first and backed dogs on 3. Hawk treed 4 first and it does not show him backing a dog. Of course that's the play by play and some of the handlers could have been laying back. Just goes to show you the dog that trees the most coon doesn't always win. Congratulations to all of them.

Joey

Sometimes when you have a big lead, you don't need to call first. Since none of us was there, all we have to go by is the score. Hawk took a minus on a tree, can't remember why, but he wasn't the best dog last night. Not to take anything away from him.

agreed comp coon huntin is a sport with strategy just like any other when your in the drivers seat you need to be more conservative on ur callin race car drivers leadin by half a lap dont have their foot all the way in the throttle they drive to win call it sandbaggin if u want i call it a smart competitor if you win by dog/handler work its a win PERIOD if the better dog lost guess whos to blame/?help these young guys out in your casts to learn the game lotta handlers have dog enuf just dont kno the game yet i was one of em for a cuople years entries are down take a kid huntin!!
