Can dogs be Bi-Polar ?
We all know people who are Bi-Polar. Do you have or have you ever had a dog that you thought might be Bi-Polar?
You know the one that acts one way today and tomorrow is a completely different dog...then a few days later is back to "normal"?
Is this even possible? It would certainly explain a lot in certain dogs. LOL

By definition, every woman I ever knew was bipolar...I don't see why a dog couldn't be too. A lot of old timers used to say,"anything a woman will do a dog can to!!!"

I have had 3 over the years who when they were right were all but unbeatable, and when they were wrong.........you wanted to beat them ......
one of them it was just a gamble and you didn't know what you had that night until you cut her loose. there was no middle ground with her EVER......you either had a coon treeing wonder...........or you wondered why the heck you even fed her. no ryme or reason, no certain terrain or condishion that was a sign of a good or bad night......just an all out gamble.
the other 2 were kind of divas. if they liked you atm they were on fire........of you ticked them off they were useless until you made peace (just like a dang woman )
one of those, my old Racket gyp was my favorite for many many years. when I first got her she was a nice hound but had a habit of treeing possums. she had never really been taught anything, always ran loose till I got her and did what ever she wanted. I decided pretty quick the possum act had to go, so I scolded her one night (this was after we had spent several months hunting hard and she had had some coon finally shot out to her) before that I had just ignored them.
we were hunting along some old railroad tracks and she had treed a cpl coons and we shot them out. pretty soon she brings a possum to us and drops it at my feet, something she did with coons too when she caught them (and often did) I got onto her and I swear she flipped me off as she left........I cant prove it but im positive she at least gave me "that look" anyway.
we kept walking down the tracks and it was a little over a mile to the next road where we had another truck parked. not a bark from that gyp the rest of the time but as we walked we came across another mauled possum every so often left in the middle of the tracks........13 total lol........when we got to the truck there on the tailgate was a dead coon she had left for us, and she fell treed a little ways into the woods across the road with 1 more
that was the last of her possums, I don't think she ever treed another one or brought one back.......but I swear the ones left on the tracks were her way of saying she was ALWAYS going to have the last word in an argument (again just like a dang woman )

I always said that "women are like coon dogs...they all look good, you just have to spend a few nights with them to find out what you really have!!!!"

I'm sure yaw have heard the expression " dogs take on the characteristics of their owner " .
So.... who really is bi-polar? Lol
But Yea I got a part time buddy that had a dog that we claimed to b bi-polar....even went so far as to claiming that particular line of dogs threw it .
Dogs have a brain just like anything else and each dog I've seen is like a human they have their own personality . This is a true story , one night my uncle and myself where going huntin went out n picked him up he had his smokey 2 hound outta my snap dog tied to his porch . I pulled up he came out grabbed him led him to the truck dropped tailgate smoke jumped up a put his head in dog box stopped backed out and was full fledged growling showing teeth hair standing up on him , he turned around jumped off the tailgate and literally attacked us like a police dog would . After we defused the situation and got him tied up away from us my uncle with a bloody four arm we just stood their and scratched our heads like what the hell just happened . We went on huntin and left him came back and you couldn't get near him he left him tied up same spot for few days took food n water to him but you had to sit down n run . My uncle ended up calling bet and they came n muzzled him and had him put down . This dog was never mistreated in no way but just snapped one day . Vet told my uncle its not uncommon for dogs to break down mentally or have so called mental problems .
