BNT Days in Flora, Freeze Branding?

Does anyone know the gentleman that come to freeze brand in Flora at BNT days?

Have you heard if he plans on coming, best time to come see him?

O'le Loren Simpson always knew if John Cole was coming but without Loren, I dunno this year... I bet he will be there though. Has anybody spoke to John lately ?

If he's there , he's easy to find. Just look for the line of people up by the breed barn and take a number.

I talked to Tim Sizemore the other night and he said that he had talked to John and he told him that he was comming to Flora. Take it for what it is worth.

When I did a profile with John I ask him this question and here was his answer.

Mark::::::::. I know you generally muzzle dog before branding , but have you been bitten and how many times have you been pooped on ?

John::::::: I have been bitten a few times , but that’s why we muzzle them now. I’ve actually had more trouble in shearing them getting them ready to brand. Sometimes it will surprise or scare the dog and they will reach around and snap at you , but most take it just fine. I’ve been pooped on more times than I can count , but still most dogs don’t do anything at all.

They say dont hunt the dog for 2 weeks so itg can turn out good so if you get it done and you are hunting them there how will that been on the brand

Your right Chris. Usually John Cole does them on Saturday. So if you get it done you shouldn't hunt that night but I guess that would be up to the owner.

Chris are you still coming up to our part of Illinois before B & T Days?

When I had mine done he said I could hunt them that night. Just not to hunt them after it scabbed over. Also, told me not to mess with the scab. He said to let it take its course.

JOHN TOLD ME THE SAME THING HE TOLD K.T. IVE HAD MANY DONE THROUGH THE YEARS AND HUNTED THEM THE NIGHT I HAD IT DONE BUT LIKE K.T. SAID DO NOT HUNT THEM AFTER THAT TILL THE SCAB IS GONE ,,,EVERY BRAND THAT JOHN HAS DONE FOR ME HAS TURNED OUT GREAT ! jweller I am but just to flora I will be in flora sat. to sat we need to get together while I am there also a friend of mine will be comin and hunting one of my dogs and he is from the milian are by coal valley but lives 5 miles from me in NC let me know if ya want to hook up

How long did it take them to heal where you can get them back out in the woods? I see two weeks is that about the norm to heal?

I may have him put one on my wife or so at least I have been telling her. lol

I better shut up, I think she isn't seeing it as being as funny as I do.... I will be the guy sitting outside the motel with a black dog on a leash. Yep she is going too, feel free to stop and visit...

YA WANA MAKE SURE IT IS HEALED COMPLETELY AS FAR AS TIME WISE ,,2 WEEKS IS CLOSE BUT IF THERES ANY SCAB AT ALL LEFT ON THERE AND YOU HUNT YOUR HOUND CHANCES ARE YOUR BRAND WILL NOT LOOK PERFECT AS WHERE THE SCAB GETS KNOCKED OFF FROM HUNTING IT WILL NOT GROW BACK WHITE,,
