I just picked up a hound that is very very skinny. you can see most every bone in her body. she is full of energy and acts healthy but is far to thin. ive already wormed her and gave her all her shots i was just wondering if anyone has any tricks go put some weight on her quickly yet healthy?
thanks

when my dog got sick, boiled eggs and ground beef helped him gain weight. But if he ain'te ever had people food, ease her into it. Or it could hurt her.

Christmas cookies work for me and I can't seem to stop eating them.
Number of things
I could be in the breeding. Could be wormy. Could be anemic. Its hard to guess what it is. Some dogs that are hunted hard loose weight and will put it back on when laid up.

cooked rice 2 cups per day with alittle grease or meat scraps works every time

i always mix 2 raw eggs and milk and bacon grease in a poor dogs feed and let it soak for a few minitues if its cold out i warm the milk up usally in a couple weeks the dog is getting fat and slick if it dont have health issues jmo
Get some tripe from your local slaughter house

Have a running dog and after a winter of running yotes hard she did not put any weight on. Fed raw eggs and fat on her dry dog food and still no weight. Took her to the vet and said not to feed raw eggs or any pork as they can get very sick from either. There was nothing wrong with her, just the breed. Told me to get a case of canned dog food and take a half a can and mix with the normal dry food. Wow in two weeks she gained 3lbs.
Yes the dry dog food is good quality, as my other dogs are a little over weight.
satin balls google for the recipe quick weight gain
Why is it o.k. for people to be naturally thin, but dogs it is totally unacceptable?
I will never understand! Biologically speaking why would I want my dog to build up fat when I want them in running condition? Ya, that fat sure helps!
A healthy dog with proper shelter, plenty of fresh water, quality dog feed, and no parasite issues that is given extra food and/or vitamins just craps more!
