Randy Put On A CLINIC Tonight...

2Mules called earlier today and wanted me to load Buford in the truck and ride over for a short COON hunt. So when I get there we load Buford and Randy into the gator and off we go one our COON hunt.......

We cut the dogs loose and after a few mins Randy hits up. We walk into the tree and see a possum sitting in this one. I catch Buford and hand him to 2Mules to lead back towards the gator while I shoot the possum to Randy....

We go a short ways and cut them loose again and they take off down the creek. In just a few mins Randy hits up again but moves over about 10 yards to a different tree. When we get to this tree I tell 2Mules if it's slick I'm gonna have to take a pic of a slick treeing Cur so I can prove it's not just Walkers that tree Slick. Well Randy saved himself from that pic..... BUT It wasn't a coon looking back at us BUT another possum. So I leash up Buford again and hand him to 2Mules to walk away from the tree while I shot this one out to Randy.......

Next drop Randy gets gone in a hurry. We get in the gator and start the way he went. We stop once to listen and he's treed about 300 yards away... 2Mules says this one's gotta be a coon hear how he's treein. We drive the gator close to him and then walk into him. Walking in it LOOKS like he's treeing on a big red oak. But just as we get to him I see POSSUM number 3 sitting in a lil tree right be side the red oak. Once again I snap the leash on Buford and hand him to 2Mules to walk him away so I can shoot the possum out to Randy....

After we get back to my truck 2Mules says we should have carried all of them out for a tailgate shot.

when you said he led the other dog away ,does that mean you kicked the crap out of him for treeing possums? man i would have shot mine after the second one.

JUST A BAD NIGHT . NEVER HUNTED WITH A CUR. DO THEY HUNT CLOSER ,HOW GOOD OF TREE DOGS ARE THEY?

Some of them hunt as far out as the hounds do,some hunt alittle closer. Most of the ones that I've hunted with that hunt close usually have a tri-tronics strapped around their neck. They are nice tree dogs,just sound tooooooooo much like a house dog most of the time for my likes.

But when it comes to squirrel huntin I don't care what the sound like. LOL

Man we need a Possum Huntin Forum !!!!!!

We have a Hunt to night and the way the Moon Looks and the Way the Trees are blowing I think we'l be very lucky to tree any !!!

But it should be a Great Possum Night !!!! lol

possum season comes in with coon around here.

That was the first time in YEARS that I'd been possum huntin.

I take it the curs allowed to tree possums if you were shootin them out to him and letting him have em...
Good trainin for dogs who aren't suppost to on how not to cover others on junk or without checkin
