-- What Can I Do!! (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=335942)
What Can I Do!!
I got a young walker female about 18 months old. She can run and tree her own coon and is super accurate but the only thing is she will run a coon the the tree located and tree for about 1 minute or 2 and then get down and take off about 20-30 yards and come back in and tree some more but once you get in to tree and catch her when she comes back in and tie her she blows the top out so what im asking is What Can I Do To Keep Her From Leaving The Tree??? Please give me some advice if she would stay she would be very tuff handle. SO WHAT CAN I DO??

If you catch her off the tree, tie her right there and go knock the coon out to the other dogs. Don't let her have any of it unless she's at the tree when you get there. It doesn't take long for them to figure out that they want to be at the tree. That's where the fun is.

keep her on tree
I agree with clint that the only way we have ever gotton one to stay on tree tie her back and let the her watch the fun she will come around fairly quick atleast thats my experience usually by the 5 th one you should see her improving
sounds like you ant puttin many coons out to her

or just let her grow up...she's still a baby.
My best luck at fixing that fault has always been to catch the dog off the tree, grab them up, switch'em (not beat'um, just a light switch'en), and put them back on that tree. The goal is to get it in their head that getting off the tree is a bad thing. About the 2nd or 3rd time has isually been the last time it was nessessary. I have never solved any problem by shooting coons out to a dog. Do I shoot coons out? Yeah. lots of them. But never for the purpose of problem solving.

Thanks guys and yeh she has had quite a few coons knocked out on her i have never shocked her or anything for this but when she located she will right away start treeing for a minute or two and she will have the coon super accurate, but she will leave and run out there 20-30 yards and come back in and tree some more and keep doing it till you get in there and then when she comes in and i catch her and tie her she blows it down knowing she's going to get the coon, an yeh i got a old dog.
