RIP "Gr. Ch. Midnight Rhinestone Cowboy"

"Gr. Ch. Midnight Rhinestone Cowboy" was hit and killed by a car in a nite hunt this past weekend in VA. Dave Myers owned and loved this dog and it sure has left an empty spot in his heart.

Cowboy had a 1st and 4th place in the nite hunts and was well on his way to becoming a dual champion. Dave was so looking forward to showing him in the upcoming dual champion classes in 2010. Cowboy held some impressive titles as he won Gr. Ch. B&T male at the Winter Classic in 2009. He also was the overall Ohio State Champion.. Thankfully Dave has some pups out of Cowboy to keep his legacy alive.

RIP Cowboy...you'll be missed!

On a side note, the gentleman that found Cowboy (he was behind the car that hit him) contacted Dave and upon waiting for Dave to meet him, wrapped Cowboy in a blanket for him and once they met up, he put the dog in the truck for Dave. Nice gesture from a total stranger.

SO SORRY to hear this!

AND... I'll admit the end of the post made me cry... I have had to do that for 2 dogs and one cat in my lifetime...and I hate to see someone lose a friend... I always feel blessed in a way to be the person "allowed" to help the animal and owner, despite the sadness... and I find it moving to hear about someone else helping... I amend that to 3 dogs... forgot about a neighbors dog who was hit this past summer. SIGH....

We are sincerely sorry for Mr Myers and send thoughts and prayers. Cowboy will live on in his heart and he will live on in his nice hound's heart as well...always.

So sorry to hear this about Cowboy, I saw Dave show him many times and talked dogs several occassions with Dave. He is a good guy and Cowboy was one of the finest looking dogs around here. Hope he gets another one going soon, I know its hard to replace a good one.

Dave I am sorry to hear about Cowboy. I showed against him and talked with you several times. I know wha tit feels likes to loose a hound. I lost Blue and Trio last year. Keep on showing and hunting and you will always remember the best with Cowboy . Lyle Turner
