Shockers

WONDERING IF ANYBODY IS USING A DT SYSTEM OR A DOGTRA , AND WHAT THEY THINK ABOUT THEM . WHICH SYSTEM WOULD YOU RECOMEND ? I'VE HAD TRI - TRONICS COLLARS BUT IAM GOING TO TRY SOMETHING NEW , THANKS

The only thing better than your tri tronics is a new tri tronics.

I will take a Dogtra. I have used them for years. They are tough as a boot, I love the vibrator I use it as a call button. So I can bring them in from a mile even if they are near noise. The rheostat switch allows you to make the punishment fit the crime and if you are like me and train with elec. you can make it perfect for any dogs tolerance. Mine has a screan that tell you just exactly what you are hitting him with.
I use elec. for directional commands, speak on command, forced fetch, come, heal and a lot of others. I use very little throw chains and long line work any more.

i have used dogtra, tritronics and DT. i hated the DT. The levels were never consistent(i tried it on my self and found that out).
one time you would hardly feel it the next it would feel it almost too strong all on the same level.

dogtra an tritronics are both great collars. i currtently own both. my tritronics pro 500 G2exp is my main set up with my dogtra and tritronics sport 60 as back ups if for any reason i would need them(like forgetting to charge one).
i plan on selling both though soon since i have yet to need one because of my tritronics failing.

good luck on your decision.

i use tri -tronics,i may use a yard brand if i did
the bird dog thing.you can still dial a setting and a tone
with tri-tronics.

I wouldn't advise those cheep yard dog collors. Not even for bird dogs. I have seen a lot of bird dogs that can take more elec. than most hounds. They have settings but a lot of times you need a setting between the settings. When you are starting with a pup you need the low end and training all the way threw threw the deer races stoping you need a wide range of elec. especially if you are going to train the come and heal with the elec.
One more thing, keep in mind the tone cant be heard around traffic or a bunch of treeing dogs or even one for that matter. If you get a Dogtra for large dogs it will be hot enough for any dog but soft enough for any pup.
Tritronics are excelant collars for correction though and as tough as any. There just not as versitile as the dogtra.

I've got a DT that's so old you got to change fuses in it to change the wallop and the antenna is laced around in the collar. I still use it on a dog barking going down the road or barking in the box when I go to a tree. Knock on wood, I haven't needed a trashbreaker for ten years. Cannot advise on current models. Just saying DT lasts.

Dang don't you fall in the water with that old artifact. A museum might give you a new one for it. It might save your life. If you cancel your life insurance your wife might just to save your life. LOL

GOOD INPUT THERE GUYS . I'VE GOT A TRI -TRONICS CLASSIC 70 , ONE OF THE FIRST CLASSC 70'S OUT WHEN THEY WENT FROM THE FIELD 70 UNIT - SO I'D SAY IT'S AT LEAST 8 YEARS OLD , IT STILL WORKS BUT ONLY ON 3 , 5 SETTING'S . I HUNT PRETTY TOP NOTCH DOG'S , SO MY PUPS ARE NOT EXPOSED TO ANY JUNK , IF THEY RUN IT , IT'S USUALLY ON THEIR OWN OR I DUMP THEM N A FIELD OF DEER TO BREAK THEM , I REALLY JUST USE SHOCKER'S TO BREAK FROM BARKING AROND THE HOUSE OR IN THE BOX , I'AM LEANING TOWARD A DOGTRA , BUT A FRIEND JUST BOUGHT A DT AND LIKES IT WELL , SO IAM STILL UN-SURE

For what you use it for I would say cheapest wins. Either one should last a long time at that. The only thing is if you ever decide to do any other training with it. So with that though If there wasn't much differance in price I would still go Dogtra. A lot of times the vibrate will shut a pup up.
