how to fix babbling

I have always said that the easiest way to fix the babbling rule is this.

If any dog is barking or struck when the minute is up all strike points will be split.

No more advantage for the babbler.

Feel free to rip it apart.

That's the craziest thing ive ever heard!!!!! I would love to see that fly around here.

No the way to fix it is to enforce the rule!!!!!!

I agree people say it can't be enforced, but I have seen more than one dog - for babbling on casts I have been on. I know it can be enforced because I have seen it. There is a gray area where it could be either way, but it's a judges call wheather he believes the dog to be babbling or not. That's where competent judges and common sense come into play

Yep, gotta go with Casy and Slick on this one. I don't see it nearly as much as it is talked about. Every area may be different but in this part of the country, you strike an obvious babbler, you will eat those points. Seen it enough times to know.

That idea wouldnt work where i hunt because we often have an honest strike before the minute is up. A.K.C. does something similar to what you suggest and it seems the couple A.K.C. hunts iv been in we were always chopping up points. The babble thing rarely seems to be an issue in our local hunts, usually 1 or 2 dogs a little mouthy off the leash but they arent struck.

best way to fix babbling is with a shock collar.
ive never seen one that couldnt be broke.
the problem is on the other end of the leash.
the responsible party is whomever decided it was ok for them to babble the first minute.

In the early 90's I had a dog out of Arkansas River Crank , he barked non stop when his feet hit the ground . When I hunted him in a night hunt I would fill his mouth with gravel or dirt so he had to get in there a ways before he could spit it out before he went to barking . I would get embarrassed for hunting a babbling dog because the babbling rules were different back then . I sure wish I had that rattle headed idiot now , I would be breeding him to a few females to conform to the rules now .

Follow the rule we have.

Minus them out!! Just leave them home.

everybody that has a babbling dog knows it is babbling so dont pretend that your dog has a cold nose give it up .leave it at home until you get it fixed . dont ruin it for the people with honest strike dogs .

what do you consider babbling i hunt a dog that will bark about 25 yards into the woods and then shuts up...so what do you actually consider babbling is the real?
