When the dog gets treed with a coon show your approval. Let the dog tree 10-20 minutes before going to it....another 5-10 minutes after you get there...tell him dead when you're finished shining..Lead him/her off the tree 10 steps or so...recast...if dog returns.,...switch his backside & say "DEAD" in a firm voice...he'll get the idea in no time. Good Luck

This is good advice. If you have a tri tronics you could just tickler the dog on his way back to the tree. He will after a few times get the idea.

if you cant do it you need to buy a finished dog. not trying to be meen. but this is a simple break.

Go hunting with a buddy. When your dog trees and you are done shining and praising, with your buddy staying at the tree, walk the dog off the tree about fifty yards or so. If he returns to the tree have your buddy ready with a switch to switch him on out of there. I would not "tickle" a pup around the tree for any reason. That doesnt mean it wouldnt work because it could on some. It is not worth the risk for such an easy fix. Save that "tickling" for bigger problems. Good luck

I didnt mean to "tickle" him at the tree. It was for when you recast him and he tries to go back. It might not work on all of them, but most it will. With no side effects. At least it has for me. The switch works well to.

Tim, I wasnt responding to your post at all. I had not read it. I read the origional post and responded in my own way. I just read your post and I see why you would think I was but I wasnt. I refere to e-collar use as "Tickling" the same way you did as "Tickler" but there was no connection.Sorry.
