Anti's Tether Concerns Focus On 12 States

So you think we don't need to be proactive??? Read this please....
Folks I can't stress enough how much we need to push getting people on board. I Encourage you and your friends to join this fight whether you coonhunt or not. If you are willing to speak up to protect their hunting rights you need to get on board.

"Dognamic Duo"s 12/12/120 Tour
TAkes Off April 6

12 States • 12 Days • 120 Dogs

March 27, Altoona, PA — What if someone wanted to prove that they could
drive to any state and in the space of a few hours easily find,
photograph, and videotape a minimum of 10 dogs spending their lives at
the end of a chain? And what if they decided to test this theory by
going on the road on a whirlwind 12 state tour, spending only 1 day per
state, including finding the dogs, driving to the next state, securing
lodging, possibly speaking, meeting media, and creating videos? And
what if at the end of each day they uploaded pictures and videos of
their findings in that state on that day for the nation to share in the
truth of what is going on in our country’s backyards?

And what if one day two women decided to make all these ‘what ifs’ a
reality? The result is The Dognamic Duo’s 12/12/120 Tour.

The brainchild of DDB founder Tammy Grimes, the road tour idea has been
festering for over a year; now she and DDB public liaison director Dawn
Ashby have decided to put the plan into action under the tour name of
The Dognamic Duo’s 12/12/120 Tour!

April 5th Grimes will fly to St. Louis, Missouri, where she will meet
up with Ashby. There they will pick up a car, drive into Missouri to a
likely location, and commence the 12 state tour bright and early the
morning of the 6th.

The intention of the tour and the subsequent pictorial and video
footage is to show how prevalent chaining and penning are in the U.S.,
educate the nation that it is common in all states, and put forth the
idea that it is indeed something that must be stopped; that it is not
humane and not an acceptable way to treat Man's Best Friend. They will
be speaking to caretakers of chained and penned dogs, passing out
treats, collars and leashes, educational materials and fencing
applications, and seeking local help for situations that appear to be
illegal, as well as engaging the public through speaking and media
alerts.

The tour schedule is as follows:
12 Days, 12 States, 120 Chained Dogs

Day 1: April 6th, Missouri
Day 2: April 7th, Arkansas
Day 3: April 8th, Lousiana
Day 4: April 9th, Mississippi
Day 5: April 10, Alabama
Day 6: April 11, Georgia
Day 7: April 12, South Carolina
Day 8: April 13, North Carolina
Day 9: April 14, Tennessee
Day 10: April 15, Kentucky
Day 11: April 16, Virginia
Day 12: April 17, West Virginia

Dogs Deserve Better, a 501c3 nonprofit organization headquartered in
Tipton, Pennsylvania, is the 2003 First Place Winner of the ASPCA Pet

Canada and France. Grimes was also a Top Ten Finalist for the 2006
Animal Planet Hero of the Year Contest.

Right to be on property

As a reporter, I know that that unless a reporter/photographer is given PERMISSION to enter the property, all photos must be taken from PUBLIC property such as the middle of a road (most property extends onto a portion of frontage roads). Of course there isn't much that can be done about this situation if dogs are visible from locations other than where these dogs are located. I accidently tuned into Animal Planet one day and was HORRIFIED by the methods used to "evaluate" confiscated and owner released animals as candiates for euthanasia or adoption. HSUS "trains" most animal control officers (ACO) and I could plainly see that while many of these ACO people actually might care about the shelter animals, they lack knowledge based on ACTUAL EXPERIENCE. A so-called certification from HSUS is too often a license for unjustified power over the life and death of animals as well as persecution and prosecution of selected animal owners. Remember, HSUS has an agenda to eliminate HOUNDS & HUNTING, so of course the public will see HOUNDS in these photos and videos. If anyone can charge these people with illegal presence on some of the properties, this should be pursued aggressively with a good attorney able to get the cooperation of a District Attorney.

I constantly run into the Dogs Deserve Better people in New York City and the Hudson Valley. I find them particularly active, illogical, and insidious. Please note that their web site has direct links to PETA and also to vegetarian propaganda. These people think its OK to feed dogs a vegetarian diet, but not OK to chain them out. BTW, Tammy Grimes has already been convicted of dognapping for "rescuing" tied out dogs.

I hope no one takes this the wrong way... if you wouldn't leave a dog tied on a chain in that bad of a shape, she wouldn't be doing what she is. I watched the vid and saw the pics. Thats being a irresponsible pet owner. Take care of your dogs and you won't have problems with her. What she did was illegal, and should be held accountable by law. Not saying she was justified, just seems the dog is alot better off (*meaning his last days) if she thinks the punishment was worth it. Bottom line take better care of your dog. If not give them to someone who wants one and can. JMO

From the pics look like they did it in broad daylight in this case. I agree 100% to 'steal' someones dog just because it is on a 'chain' deserves to be convicted and should be. Skeeter lived a happy life on a chain his entire life and died as healthy as any dog could due to accident. If you got a dog that old, do the dog a favor and put a 22 between his eyes don't chain him up and let him die for the world to see.

Again I am not taking sides with this woman, just trying to take everything into consideration and make my own judgement.

Looks like they don't really like them in pens either. My mom was at TSC buying supplies to build a pen for their dogs and she told me there was a woman that said she feels sorry for dogs that have to live in a pen!!!!!!!!! Makes me wonder now.

PETA as well as other "Antis" do not believe in pet ownership? Their goal is for ZERO pet population. Many do not believe dogs, horses, etc. should EVER wear a collar, harness or leash. They do not believe in "training." And they don't believe in logical restraint and confinement. There are "Antis" who are attorneys & they mentor people like these women. They are also pushing for not recognizing "ownership" of any animals, trying to establish "guardianship" instead so they can take your animals away "because they SAY so."

I just had my pens built last Summer. The mrs said she thought the hounds would be MUCh HAPPIER now.. I asked her why?? She said because they don't have the chain any longer... I asked her what the difference in being on a chain or in a jail cell? She didn't know what to say...... People give dogs toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Many human charteristics and they just don't have the brains to think like humans. They are just ANIMALS for crying out loud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now Oprah is getting on board with PETA. I just saw an advertisemnet for her show today. It deals with puppy mills. Naturally they will show the worse case scenarios, but unfortunately thats what sells.
There are a lot of animals that are mistreated and neglected and if you think about it you can probably identify one. These folks don't need a pet, because quite simply they could care less how its treated. The point is that we as responsible owners will bear the brunt of these attacks and will ultimitely pay the price.
Shows such as Oprah have millions of viewers, this is something we must accept and try to deal with on a local basis.
PETA and such anti groups have money and influential tv moguls such as Oprah. Fortunately for us 80% of the population is not anti-hunting biased.
We must continue to present ourselves in a positive light to this majority. And we must continue to work with our legislators to monitor and work on any legislation that effects us. Legislators listen to voters, the group with the most voices will be the prevalent one.

Someone uninvited showed up in the holler here they'd sure 'nuff get a surprise!!

Ask the two dude's that showed up here to look at somethin one of my son's had forsale A while back. I had the eye on them & when they started driftin in around our hound's I put the sneak on them.

They was a lil concerned over the .870 leadin the way....LOL!!

Had no idea who they was but I bet they think twice before they go slitherin outa the pocket again.
