Legal or not?

Our coon season opens on oct 15 which is a sunday.Say I shoot one out at midnight on saturday.Am I legal or not.It will be the 15th by then.I see nothing in the regs that says anything about daylight or anything. What about if the season ends on the feb 28th can I not shoot one out after midnight on the 28th? Yall think I should just wait till sunday to shoot one out or what? LOL!! I'M READY FOR SOME FUR TO FLY!!!

Check your game laws!

In NY our laws state that the opener is daylight the date specified...if I go out after midnite the date of the opener I am illegal till sunrise..

Have a question about lights in GA. What happens if you are caught with a light higher than 6 volts when coon hunting.?

quote:
LEGAL HOURS for hunting are 30 minutes before sunrise until 30 minutes after sunset, except that alligators, raccoons, opossums, foxes, coyotes, bobcats and feral hogs may be hunted at night. However, only battery powered lights not exceeding 6 volts (12 volts for alligators) or fuel type lanterns may be carried by hunters for locating these animals. Legal hours for migratory bird hunting conformto federal regulations (see page 13).

I dont know what happens if you get caught hunting with a light bigger than 6volts.All I do know is if they get me they are gonna have to get everybody.Just think what would happen at the winter classic. The state would rack up! I'm going tomorrow night after midnight and try and shoot one to my young dog.Hes waited long enough.Cant go sunday night.

Here in Va the Saturday night and Sunday thing gets several people in trouble.

In our laws it states "from noon one day until noon the next".
That is stated in how many coon we can take, and such. Also you can not turn a dog loose after 2am on Sunday morning/Saturday night.

If this is how your laws read. It means Noon Saturday till noon Sunday is one day, and therefor the 14th. If it doesnt read this way, cut those dogs out at midnight and kill one for me.

Back to how people get into trouble here in Va. Noon one day till noon the next. Means you cant turn your hound out at midnight Saturday and say its the 15th. Its still considered Saturday the 14th. Then we are not allowed to hunt on Sunday in Va. Therefor when the 15th starts at noon Sunday, well cuss its Sunday I still cant go, and kill a couple coon. I will have to wait until Monday night to knock a couple coons out and not worry about the Law.

our season in indiana runs from noon the day it opens, till noon on the day it closes.
our running season closes the 14th of oct.so the nite of the 13th is the last nite you can legaly hunt.
