YANKEE'S SLEW FOOT at stud

Slew Foot is back up for stud to approved females, he is a 2012 performance sire and will be paid up for 2013. Slew is a coming 4 year old and has sired 6 litters with excellent results. Slew is run on Bear, Cat and Coyote and does well on all, he will tree his share of coon too, just to aggravate me! He has a big bawl mouth and can flat move a track with authority, good cold nose with the grit to stay all day. He has been a natural from day one and is throwing these same traits in his pups. Anyone that has hunted with him or one of his offspring will tell you same, but better yet come find out for yourself. DOC, Is a nice young male out of my Slew and Angel cross, I'm planning on making this cross again early next year.

Mike,hope everything is going good up north.When you make the Angel X Slew Foot cross again keep me in mind.Matt and I were just talking about Slew Foot last night and I'd be interested in trying one out of him down here so keep me in mind.Take care and tell the family I said hello.If you get the chance come on down for a few nights this fall and we'll get after some ringtails.

leo and I have two pups out of slew and pepper I beleive. The female is in heat right now at 10 months and yesterday I walked in to a caught bear and had to get close to pull the male off. The female is doing as good as the male. Easy training pups with alot of speed and drive to be in the front.. VERY happy with what they do at their age! Thanks Mike

Tom, everything has been well here, we've been running these bluedogs hard all summer and have got a good start and some young hounds. This "DOC" male out of Slew and Angel is proving to be something special, and I've had the pleasure of starting or hunting with several of his littermates, this may have been one of my better crosses. I would sure like to get one in your hands, so many of these dogs go to biggame hunters that the coonhunters don't get to see what their all about. I'll keep in touch with ya...

Nate, you and Leo have done well with your pups and I'm glad they are in your hands, half the battle is placing pups where they'll be hauled to the woods. This cross on pepper is proving to be a dandy as well, pepper is as gritty as they come, maybe too much! These dogs are young yet and another season on them should put the icing on the cake, so to speak. Good luck through kill season.

Leo, glad to here how well your pups are doing on bear, hope you can knock one down to them! You'll have to get a picture of them, I'd like to see how they are filling out.

hey bud,things are going well here, knock on wood!lol.ohhh frost huh?its been in the upper fiftys out here so far, but been a few years since ive seen frost tho in september now.20's! wow.yeah id be considering the wood pile too!lmao. been a disaster trying to find a pup trainer here in new england.but we always have clyde to fall back on too, lol hopefully show the ropes to his pup i have here. got his pup working on a cage coon somewhat decent and gonna be taking him out with clyde soon.seems like he'll be a slow starter though which is good with me.anyways,hows your self and slew and the family holding up bud?

Mike i thought I would give you an update on our pups. I had scout on 4 caught bear now and 2 kills he has been staying well with those mean ones. Candy has also been on 2 kills and one caught one. That heat cycle put her alittle behind the male but still very impressed with their drive. Hope your season is going well as ours is almost done.

Nate, sounds like their doing great for 11 months old, I sure like my female I kept from that cross, she is showing some real drive also. It doesn't look like I'm going to make it over that way for kill season. I've been knocking the rust off the coondogs and running a few coyotes.

I have been fortunate to get a couple litters out of Larry Anderson's Rocky hound from montana, I took my family on a little vacation in march out west, had a great hunt with larry and his family, and he was gracious enough to send his top male back home with me to breed some females. We managed to get Diamond and Pepper both bred, Diamond whelped 10 and Pepper ended up with 3 after some complications. These are some gritty pups and are bred extremely well, I have been wanting to make this cross for three years now and things finally came together. This will no doubt move my breeding program along and I can hardly waite to put these guys in the timber. This cross should cross back good into my Slew Foot females and vice versa. I'mnot sure if I'll have any pups for sale after I get back with everyone that spoke for pups, but if I do, I will let those that are interested know if any come available. I will get some pics when the weather clears here.

Here are a couple of young hounds (11 months) out of Slew and pepper that are making real bear dogs,they are owned by nate bartz and leo guyette from wisconsin. They tell me the scout male is outstanding and candy is right in there to, but hasn't had quite as much woods time due to her first heat cycle.You guys have done well by these young hounds and it sure shows!
