Thanks guys. Good deal Dave, iv slowed down quite a bit, i ran these hunts from state to state for many years so im spending time at home with the family for a while, I still hunt 2 to 3 nights a week but back home early, i have two really honest handlers hunting for me, there in two different clubs tonight so maybe we get win, as always Breed For Hardwood not Plywood.

Ron I haven't hunted Ohio in over a year but we are planning to come up to Upper Sandusky this fall, would love to get up with you and do some hunting.

Good hunting here. I should be right in your pathway to Upper Sandusky or close by. Wayne Hanson came down last weekend and brought his three boys with him. We had a great hunt! Looked at 4 singles in less than two hours.

Tim,

The bird house looks good. I have had many very cool opportunities over the years. Back in my early 30s, I did bluebird research for about 3 years, and had a blast.

I learned it is best to have bird boxes that you can open. The reason is every winter get in the boxes and clean out all the nesting material. There are some parasitic flies that lay eggs in the nesting material, and they feed on the baby birds greatly deceasing the fledgling chances.

I designed a bluebird box that can be easily cleaned, I made the plans for local Boy Scouts. It is just a plain bird box, but I could e-mail you the plans if your interested.

Thanks Larry I would like see your plans, email them to nitehunter2004@yahoo.com, I built these out of cedar and you can removed the top to clean them out, it slides under the gutter in the back and has a pin in the front, just pull the pin out and the top slides off.

I built a 16 unit martin house. It was a lot of work because I installed the latest entrances, that keep starling out. The first year I had a couple of pairs. This year I had several looking at them but none moved in. I think the restrictive entrances are discouraging the new comers. I'm going to try them with the regular entrances next year.
