Ukc Thank You For The Crossbreds!

It allows people to honestly breed what they choose to, without interfering with those that are dead set against any cross breeding. In the past the cross bred dogs were slipped into a bloodline. Now they can stand on their own and either have failure or success while being known for what they are, Crossbred.

Here is a pup that just got it's eyes open and his mom is a friends black dog and his dad is a walker hound that has been successful in the competition circuit. His winnings from the different registries are over $30,000.

Now someone can make the choice to crossbred and watch the results and allow the outcome to either bring credit to crossbreeding or show that it isn't something that works.

I love puppy's Bruce I always have I cant get nothing to come in heat I am getting desperate.

Well the 9 month old one is fixing to get hunted and I will see how much love I have for him in a couple months.

That XBred policy just worked out on so many different levels and solved so many different challenges for us that it was an easy decision. My thanks goes out to the breed associations that are open for re-entry. A very progressive move in my opinion.

Unfortunately she had 10 and 8 were still born. I probably won't get one but friends with the owners and will be with them plenty in the woods to see how they do.

Roco, I see it like everything in life. Either the dog wags the tail or the tail wags the dog. If you or anyone else sees a pup with a pedigree that concerns you. Then the best thing to do is, stay as far as you can from it. Thats the same thing I and many others do with registered dogs of a certain breed. If we are looking for the Kennel Club to do everything for us then we are looking in the wrong mirror. You have do to it for yourself. You decide what breed, what line and what parents.

You have a couple options. Work with and buy a pup from a Kennel Club that offers cross bred and x-bred to be registered honestly and it should be buyer beware if its not their kind of breeding. The second option is buy a pup and find out a few years later that is's papers were doctored to make it look like something it wasn't. If I had a dollar for every pup who's papers don't tell the truth, the whole truth. I would be rich. UKC now says there is no reason to register them incorrectly. You can comp hunt them, just be honest with the pedigree. No reason to falsify anything. Yes I would agree with you that with an x-bred you probably should be more cautious. Not your cup of tea, stay away from them.

I think a better way to perhaps say what I am thinking is this.
You can have a kennel club that has tight restrictions trying to get people to do what is right. Then people figure out how to circumvent the system.
You can have a kennel club that gives a breeder some choices and still have everything honest. Then people can make their crosses and let the results speak for themselves. If you honest with a pedigree your not going to hurt anyone a generation or two down the line. If you are dishonest with the pedigree, just to play the game. Your not being fair to future generations.

To me the HONEST part is the key to success. UKC got it right!

Roco, I am answering this only to see if I understand this. I appreciate you discussing your situation here so I and others can learn.

In your situation, isn't single registration still an option. Actually easier now as there is no performance evaluation?

The second option is x-bred and then after a few generations and reach the 80% status you are back to registered Blueticks hounds.

Also there is something in the video about pups that were eligible and not registered.

Now if you are showing your dogs then the x-bred don't work right away because they are a category and not a breed. For hunting you can compete with them.

Go and look at the part about single registration. Perhaps should and could be done with the blue tick breed opens the books. If it was me I would call the blue tick association and ask them gets what it takes now to single register. If I watched the video correctly it is a toss up on my interpretation of the rules. I think you could get it done. Then have right away registered blueticks.

You said some of your papers were lost or dogs not registered. I think that is what I was talking about with the pups.
