Who makes badland chaps
Not who sells them but who makes them for nite time hunters? I'm guessing it's Yoder or dans... Thanks for any help.

Coch20 maybe this will help.
The Bad Land Chaps are a ballistic material. Like all materials they come with different quality material.
The two main companies that make chaps and put on boots are Yoder and Dan's. Both buy material that is available and sew make the chaps.
Both Yoder and Dans puts this ballistic material on boots and Yoder calls theirs Bad Lands and Dan's call their Rough Neck.
I know Dan's use the INVISTA brand of ballistic material. Yoder uses a different brand. INVISTA and INVISTA Cordura is the leading mfg when it comes to this material.
For what we use the product for I would say either companies material will work fine and last a long time.
You could argue back and forth on which brand of ballistic material is better and I have heard both sides tell why their are better. Like I said both will hold up.
Dans no longer offers the roughneck chap. They will use what material they have but once it is gone... they will sell no more!

Kris your exactly right which I forgot to add. Kevin couldn't give me a number this morning on how much material he has left but they were not planning on getting anymore once whats in stock has been used.
Thanks Bruce for the post very helpful. So what is the main difference between the rough neck and the five star chaps? Are they just completely different materials, how do they hold up and what about comfort n flexibility?

Each chap has a different property.
The 5 Star chap is a 600 weight material with a coating on it.
Briars don't pick at it and it is tuff. Only down fall is if you cross a lot of Barb Wire Fences they can cut it do to the tightness of the nylon. You get into the heavy weight chaps 1000 weight and they are tuff but get picked a lot and have fur balls from the briars.
Go down to 400 weight lightweight chaps and they are good but a lot of briars will penetrate them.
All the chaps have a waterproof liner sewn in them.
Five Star are my favorite. Most of the time with the chaps if there is a problem it comes from the legs rubbing together wearing out the inside of the chap or wearing them driving a stick shift and rubbing the left foot against the side of the break pedal when using the clutch. Most chaps far out last the boots.
The ballistic chaps are right up there with the best of them also.
Thanks Bruce your custmor service is top notch and your willingness to reply to people is outstanding.. I'll be calling you for new boots here in a few days. Thanks

Brian ...James is set up at super stakes now with his boots and is hunting tonight if you are close...Yoders makes the bad lands for him and he was the first to offer that chap that I know of..He has them on several different boots as he hunts most every night he knows the true rigors of coonhunting in all extremes and conditions..They are a stiff chap and hold up well...True timber has a camo chap now also of the same quality that they guarantee snakeproof if you need that..Get you a new pair of boots and find us both another libby
..Hope all is well!!!

Thanks John, and thanks for the info on the badlands. I've regretted selling that little black dog for a long time. Just was always something about knowing I had one I could get out of the kennel that could tree me a coon. Glade you got to enjoy her some too.. The ones that you like are hard to come by.
