ALBA Leopard World Hunt!
Well the hunt came and went and it was a lot of fun, its always great to get to see old friends and make new one's! We had folks come to this hunt from I believe 12 different states so overall it was a good turn out.
Well The Hunt had 10 dogs go to the woods to hunt for the Championship and after two nights out in the woods. We didn't have a ALBA World Ch this year but 1st place went to Dual GRCH Skyline Uncle Buck! Congrats tomorrow I will list all the dogs and their places. The Bench Show was won by NtCh Smith's Blackie (JET)! Congrats
Also the Meeting went well and we got a few things done. The 2015 Leopard Days will be held in Milton, IN. Also The present Officers will be staying in office for another 6 months at which time when we have Leopard Days we will have a special meeting to elect the 2015 ALBA Officers. We will be hosting a UKC Youth hunt!
Also the folks that will be doing our Monthly Articles will be Mrs Pennie Johnson and she will be writing the Article for American Cooner and Full Cry and Zach Danberry will be moving over to write the Article for Bloodlines!
The ALBA had one dog Nominated and he was voted into the Hall of Fame, which is Wick's Camo Jug! So Congrats to Ole Jug and Mr. John Wick!

I definitely had a good time seeing, visiting and meeting everyone at the hunt and look forward to the next one! Watching my dog tree way up on one of those Ozark hills in the very area where where the red fern grows was filmed is a lifelong memory that I will never forget!

Jack, is that the dog Scott had that was out of the Crane's dogs?

Beau
Yes John you are correct he is out of Cain. I can't remember who his mother was. I'm almost sixty-seven so give me a pass on that. He was a real nice young dog that I sent down to a guy in Virginia to hunt for me. I don't know what happened but he came back a face barker. I never saw him fight or take hold of a dog. I didn't have anything that would tree with him. I hated it. I put a bunch of miles on him just me and him. He was the best young Leopard I've had other then the Care Bear dog I sold Hubie. I didn't want to cull him. I called Jack Laney and told him what he was and asked if he thought he would make a hog dog. He didn't show any aggression any place but on the tree. You could haul him with anything not even a growl over a dead coon. Jack said he should be fine as a hog dog. I gave him to Jack and he had a dog hauler come get him. I talked to Jack months later and he said he had'n't had any problem with him. He said he was doing well as a coon dog and he had lost his papers and I helped him with that. He said they were going to put him in the hunts. I'm tickled to death he's doing as good as he is. Dan, I can't understand why you would act like you know anything about what I have or don't have. We had our last conversation years ago. I'll leave it at that.

I've got the papers now on my office desk. Safe and sound. I have gotten no reports of face barking since he's been in MS or Ark. I've had two accidental breedings off my Sam dog to littermate sisters half plott/half cur with some blutick way back. 1 gyp had 2 and I culled one. The male is a fast bad rascal. The other gyp had 5 but raised two. They're sandy blonde with merle on back and head and white feet. I have high hopes for them. I need a black and tan female with a touch of Scout breeding and I think I'll have some Leps that would suit any big game hunter. Some Scout/Dutchman Creek blood would get some money out of me too. Hint hint.
His name is Sam and he's on the stud board. I will personally hunt with Beau when he's back in MS and I'm through picking cotton. Will give a first hand report.
Here's a video of Beau doing his thing in South Arkansas
Here's a video from Monday night. He's at my house in MS now
Going to be put in a UKC hunt soon.
I'm glad hes doing good and the young female out of him did a fine job at the Winter Classic and her name is Ruby!
