The federal government is shut-down, not the states. So you should see your state's DNR still hard at work.

The employees at the National Parks, are federal employees and have therefore been impcated some. Although I fail to understand how you can have a bunch of officers barricading a location, but not out patrolling it!

Warden for Geauga County was at our club meeting last night. He said with fur prices up more people will be out in the woods and so will the DNR.

I was jus kidding bout the spotlighting... I got pulled over once for it but he was pretty understanding that I was looking for my coondog cuz I had my tracker out the window and showed him how it worked so I had a legitimate reason to be shining the field.

Local fur Buyeris going to be around $20 for a 2X. At the end or last yr coon were averaging close to $30 at the North American Fur Auction and they sold out. The demand is still up so the prices are supposed to start off strong. The problem is that everyone and their brother is going to be hauling in furs. Once the market is flooded with furs the price is going to drop. I look for prices to drop around the first of the yr, unless we have a bad winter that shuts down the hunting and trapping early.

Warden said they will be out at night listening for dogs, and during the day checking culverts, ditches, and anywhere else a trap might be set. Make sure traps are tagged correctly, and your license is valid.

tagging traps

Don't know where your from or rules but Wisconsin you have to have name and address attached to traps. Look in fur fish game there's guys that make little copper tags
