WoundSeal powder for bleeding.

Anyone ever use this product? It looks like a great, inexpensive way to stop cuts from bleeding but I haven't used it yet.

Jim it works great. I have used it a thousand times in the woods on fox field trial dogs, and on coon hounds that got into a scuffle in the woods. I like it. it gives you time to get home and start the meds.

Well our dog has had ear cuts twice in the last year that just bled like crazy. Took forever to get it stopped. Never seemed to effect her but it makes the inside of the dog box look like a slaughterhouse. I think I'll start carrying some in the top storage.

The powders work great....I actually carry a small tub in a pouch on my belt with my spare bulbs etc...

Ears bleed like crazy and don't wanna stop....throw that stuff on it and its good to go in a minute...foot pads are another thing that don't like to stop bleeding..

In the truck I carry a doggy first aid kit...antiseptic sprays and such..gauze..vetwrap...nothing major..but enough to keep me in the hunt or get me home or to a vet...

I had a dog cut her foot at a hunt one night....the guide pretty much forced me to ride with hhim..said we'd leave my truck at his house..safe there and we'd be 5 mins away all night to get me back to it need be...

Well her big foot pad was sliced wide open...I withdrew..."oh we got a hunt to finish she ain't gunna die!". I was upset...for now on at hunts I don't leave my truck and no one else rides with me either...if/when I gotta go I am going...selfish maybe..but I have a life outside coon hunting and things can come up and my dog is one of the more important things to me..he gets hurt were gone..

ear bleeding

Had it happen twice this past season. After trying everything i could think of to stop it, i finally got it stopped with flour and alot of pressure. But like you said Jim, looked like a murder scene in the garage and dog box. After the first time, I invested in some of the powder and EMT gel. ...

Jim try a search for some stuff called WONDER DUST, I dont even know if they still make the stuff, my bottle is probably 20 years old. Its a yellow powder that comes in a squeeze bottle, made for livestock. Good stuff.

Walkerdog, I believe the stuff burns a little...when I am doing an ear I straddle their neck and hold it...if you can keep em still for a few seconds your usually good...

Amazing how much a cut ear can bleed!

This post reminded me to check my tub...sure enough it came open and spilled out at some point...gotta refill it...

I tried the power on myself and I can attest that it DOES BURN!!!! If the cut is CLEAN & FRESH super glue works great (it burn too).
