Won't Shut up!

I have a 6 y old walker/bluetick that I have had since she was a pup. She has been a good hunter the whole time, but the last 2 times I've taken her, she will not shut up! As soon as I turn her loose it starts and won't stop.

I layed her up a week and just hunted my other dog thinking that might help, but no, same thing. Is there something bothering her or has she just lost her mind? Any suggestions?

Thanks

check her ears, feet see if there is anything dirty stuck or infected. If not that i dont know, maybe been chased by coyote and its her way of keeping them away

Hunt the sucker til it hurts...and then hunt it some more. Most times a dog annoys me with a habit I will just hunt the heck out of it.

Does she then go out and get a real strike and tree? My guess, your dog has developed some sort of superstition. That doesn't tell you much but might be a good starting point for solving the problem.

I don't know if she would get treed, I can't take it that long. The other dogs quiet so I know it's not coons. It's just crazy the way she carries on.

She irrates me too much and I make my son take her back to the truck and enjoy the other dog doing what it'e supposed to do. I have know idea what her deal is. She was great until a couple weeks ago.

Maybe I'll have my kid take her out without me and see what happens.

Maybe it's the .5 walker?? haha

a friends female did the same thing, she had uterus infection and died from it shortly after.
soon as her feet hit the ground off the tailgate she was more then every breath till you got her back in the box. she would do it on the leash too once you caught her.

Interesting, I'm going to give here a good looking over after work.

About 2 years ago one night I was seconds from putting her down while out hunting. She just stiffened up and fell over, would come out of it and do it again. Finally, the last time she seemed like she wasn't coming out of it and my son picked her up and was carrying her and she woke up and treed in 5 minutes. Have never seen that happen again, but maybe it is happening in the kennel and she has done some sort of damage. I don't know.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Are you Sure you Didn't Drive (HER NUTS) ???

Only meaning Both Dogs and Humans Need time to "Get away from the Pen or Chain"

Just thinking if you took her to a large Fenced Pen and She was turned loose for a few days it just mite strighten her out ..

Our hounds are loose to Run 24/7 in a 6 arce Area and they are the most Level headed hounds around .. There Quiet and very easy to Hunt ..

I bought a Female a couple of years ago and She had been kept in a 10 x 10 Pen her whole life and it had drove her 1/2 Batty .. Just After a week of being here it totaly changed her into a nice calm hound .. Before She would just Bounce off Everything !!

I'm not a expert, but I have had hounds for 33 years, I don't think I drove her nuts. Her pen is 60' x 50' outside and 20' x 20' inside.I may be driving her nuts by leaving her home now, but hunting with one good dog stress free, I'm getting used too. Very enjoyable.
We let her out when we got home yesterday and she was fine running around, no noise. Load up and went to the woods and BAM, as soon as I turned her loose nothing but noise. Caught her up, turned other dog loose and went through there silent.

.

sounds to me like she is having seizures. if she is it can cause them to change over night. that would explain the getting stiff and falling over. some dogs get very hyper for an hour or so after having one. there are many different kinds of seizures some affect the brain so its like you wake up one day with a different dog.
