Plus it or minus it hunt
I think it would be cool to do a hunt like this. I heard some guys in Iowa talking about this four or five years ago and at the time I wasn't packing to accurate of dog but would love for someone to start a hunt up like this. Have a nice little entry fee and the rules would be quite simple. If you see it score it plus or as a plus 1 and if you don't minus it or negative 1. Don't matter if it's a den tree or cedar tree, u half to see it. I know I got one here til November that I would gladly enter. He's made 16 trees since Thursday night and had at least one coon in 15 of the trees. This would be a really neat hunt, shouldn't be much fussing or pointing fingers, lol.

I am not a comp hunter but I think the hunts should be scored like that.Plus if you see it minus if you don't completely do away with circle points. In the long run it would make for better dogs.

Bring your best to my house, where the coon are run to death and I will take you to woods where we can minus every tree your dog makes-not saying he wont be there, but we wont see him. You really want to penalize dogs for hard run coon?

It would be hard for me to get interested in a hunt that depended so much on dumb luck. My coon climbs outside a dead elm, yours climbs a den or a 70' maple in mid summer foliage. Mine dog wins. Big deal. I don't care for games of chance.

Not really logical thinking here. Chances are if my coon is seen and yours is circled your gonna lose anyway.
Kinda of intersting.
these kind of hunts should be done in season real esy to plus one when it hits the ground even the three blind mice could hear the thump.

Every competition hunt is a game of chance. If you see a coon on the outside of a den during a regular UKC hunt and you can't see another one on a den. You still end up getting beat. Circle doesn't beat +. Wait till the leaves are off and do it. You would see a lot better dog in this kind of event. It is real easy to circle a tree if you can't see but 10% of the tree. When all of the trees are bare, he either has it or not. If he trees one in a den or big pine, oh well better get another one. I really think this kind of hunt during the right time of the year would be alot of fun. Of course, just like with any of the hunt formats, some would like it and some wouldn't. I just think it would be interesting to see.

Track
If you think it takes a hot nose dog to show you a coon on most every tree come down and I'll show you a cold nose dog that is 95% accurate with coons on the outside. He is a rare item
