Eye problem?

I noticed last night after our hunt that my two year old had what looked like raw places below both eyes....near where the tear ducts are. I suspect that it may be from two long, hard tracks in soybean fields. I also noticed that his nose had a raw place on it as well.

Any else seen this? Any suggestions? I thought maybe some antibiotic cream.

Does it seem to be itchy or "weepy?" Not sure that I'd want it to get too close to the eyes, but I've used diaper rash cream and/or jock itch cream on dogs with "chapped" looking places with success before.

I HAVE SEEN SOY BEAN RACES DO WORSE THAN YOU DESCRIBED. I ALSO KNOW OF ONE THAT WENT BLIND BECAUSE THE FIELD HAD BEEN SPRAYED THAT DAY.

Crap...that's scary as heck. We have been trying to steer away from those bean fields, but it seems Mr. Coon knows exactly where he needs to be..check him this afternoon and see how his eyes are.

THEY REALLY HAVE TO PUT THE HEAT ON MR COON IN THE BEANS AND HE KNOWS THAT. I HAVE SEEN BEAN RACES LAST ABOUT 2 HOURS LONG.

RBT.... You can go to the Farmer's CO-OP and get a tube of salve that is used for cow's eyes. It's LA-200 in an eye salve. This stuff flat works!!! The tube is yellow and easy to identify. I wish I could remember the proper name for it, but my description is accurate.

If I am not mistaken, LA-200 is an injectable.

I think you are referring to Terramycin (which great to keep on hand).

The Terramycin we are referring to is not an injectable.........Surprised your farm store doesn't carry it.

We go thru about 5-6 tubes a year .. Shame its so expansive .. We have learned that you will have less waste if you squirt the whole tube in a syringe, we have a very soft rubber tube about 1/4" long on the end ,, Something about those little metal tube they just keep osuing ..
