Will as far as we are concerned. Oklahoma does not have any UKC hunts and 3 hour drive is more than we can afford.

I would say yes..I went to a hunt on Saturday in Ohio $100 in gas and $30 in entry fees and $50 in hotel...The thought of getting a hotel was my idea, so I'm not complaining.. However I was thinking of going to another hunt on Sunday at a different club about the same distance as the one listed above..Just could not get it done would have had well over 300 bucks in hunts this weekend and 3/4 of that would have been fuel cost...I am going to have to start choosing hunts carefully that are more than 2-3 hrs away due to fuel cost.

I think it's gonna leave a mark, In months ahead I am gonna try and carpool with other beaglers to and from hunts to save on gas cost.

Yeah the cost of gas does enter the equation. All the clubs around me are 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours away. Other than being around people that like running dogs as much as me and the great feeling of running against other dogs. It really is hard to justify making the trip. I thought about going to some trials in SO. IN, but with the cost of gas and lack of talent in my dogs, I don't think I will.

Every little bit helps, this is a very nice gesture, I'm sure it will help some for sure!

what is sad is we have several clubs around the area within one hour away but now that is a far hunt now. it cost me just the same to stay here and go to a hunt as it did last year to an ohio hunt. i used to travel to everyhunt usually being in 7-8 different states a year now it hurts to stay in my own state and go to what i use to call back yard hunts!!!!!

besides having the gas money, WONT YOU NEED TO HAVE A DOG THAT WILL RUN A RABBITT. LOL just joking man. when you gonna come run with me. ran for 3 hours yesterday. Thunder is really strarting to come around. It will take a little more time for the pup though.

What I have noticed most at trials is where people are car pooling more and when the cast get called out there are cast without vehicles. More at your big hunts than local hunts. Has anybody else noticed that?
