Breeding Question...

I bred my black and tan female 10 days ago and she has a little bit of white puss coming out of her....is this normal for a dog just bred and going out of heat or is this a type of infection and needs to be addressed.....?

I think I know what you are talking about, I have seen it before on my female. I dont think it is anything to worry about. Just keep watch on her.

The female we have here was the same way. She started dripping a little white stuff for a couple days after being bred and we thought she had an infection. The pussy stuff stopped and I haven't seen any on her since. I think yours will be okay too.

I doubt if you will get any Pups. If the Puss was Dark you will get Pups, but if it is White, I doubt it. Keep us informed.

Take her temp.!! If normal nothing to worry about!!Digital Rectal thermometers work just fine. Beeps at peak temp. normal is 102.

Mine definitly is and she had the same fluid coming out. She is due August 22nd. I read in a dog book that the fluid is the rest of the heat cycle, the color of it is whitish....

Congratulations. I have had 3 or 4 over the years that had a white puss after breeding and I didnt get any pups, if it was darker I got pups, but I still never said there was no chance, he was asking for Opinions and I gave mine. If and when I give one, I give it from experience, not what I read in a book.. I personally have never had one with white puss, like Mayo, stick, but maybe it was just coincidence. If I breed one tomorrow and she starts passing white puss, I wont get my hopes up.
