.

I registered a few and put down the color of the dog on the papers just like I saw it. I was just thinking about those colored pups but it was the 70's and early 80's when I experienced it. Some of the old house breeding is where I found it. Chocolate instead of black or mouse colored head or spots also. Blue eye every now and then. Haven't seen that in a pup in years. Also remember the chocolate pups having thicker hair. Amazing what genetics will do.

You better mark the box that says tri color and leave it at that. Unless you want problems from the color police .

Im not a fan of the walkers looks but i do like some of these silver ones. And like the ones that are blanket back, most of the hips shoulders legs are that red, and little of the white on feet and ankles

the pups that don't meet the breed standards for color can now be papered as an x-bred . years ago we use to have a pup crop up out of our walkers with blond heads and spots, only saw one that was mouse colored.my uncles believed that the colors came from shetlers sonny boy .

This has been discussed on here before. Technically, the color is from a black gene with a dilution gene.

Yes, they can be registered, but only as it being black and what ever other colors of the dog such as white and tan.

I consider it similar to tan. There is a ton of variability in the tan from a pale yellow to a dark rich almost coco color. Everybody still considers it all tan.
