Raised fleshy bumps on dog?
A couple raised fleshly, purple looking raised bumps on dog. A few on back, one on ear, etc. What could this be? Wormed regularly...
Full of puss?

Teaspoon of fish oil should work
Red Mange. Give the dog two cc's of Ivomec for three days repeat in about two weeks.

doesnt look like red mange? Its protruding from the skin. Like little black/purple bubbles
2 cc's are you sure Dennis??? That's a lot of ivermectin!
I mistakenly diagnosed Lyme as heart worms once, and gave my dog two doses of just 1 cc of Ivomec and when I took him into the vet they said his liver enzymes were way out of whack. I told them about the Ivomec and they said that was the likely cause, and to be careful to not overdue it!
He was a 75 lb. dog, and they said .75 -1 cc was a max dose, and not more than once per month.

David I took one to the vet once for red mange and that's what they told me to do. Granted you don't want to keep doing it, but for a short time it should be ok.

Red mange usually starts on the legs. Small patches. Scaly not pusfilled.
I would give her a bath with warm water and a very mild soap or shampoo ~ they make a shampoo with antibacteria agents in it. Cephalexin (spell?) Is an antibiotic you can get from your vet. 500 ccs 2xs day. Sounds like she has a staph infection and that will take care of it.

Could also try a hot spot medication, could be allergy to bedding or food as well.
I would pry start with topical medications first.
Vertricyn is another good medication I have had success with, especially if it is a bug bite.
Try one thing at a time, to figure out what worked.
High doses of ivomec is hard on a dogs liver.

You may try changing the dogs bedding also the feed could be causing this.I would wash the dog real good and scrub those spots for 3/5 days with a good dandruff/ flea shampoo....Sometimes wet hay will cause this with some dogs having a reaction to their bedding...

Can you post a pic ?
Sounds like cellulitis can turn into staph easily . Pop bumps and squeeze gunk out (it will probably be dark bloody looking use rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer on your hands if you don't have rubber gloves). Get a good shampoo like t-gell or shulphadine (good stuff) if you go to vet ask for Sebozole shampoo . You can buy the other two at dollar general let sit after you lather up at least 5 min before you rinse . Apply benedine or colliodal silver spray several times a day . Either will work on staph and also kill strange skin funguses or other skin bacterial or viral infections . Can be found at about any drug store .
The other question is what caused these bumps ... could be thorns or briers , check the bedding in dogs house make sure it is clean and not damp if you use hay or cedar switch to straw . If it does not help switch to grain free dog food.(corn is the most common food allergy in dogs) . Also is this an older dog or a pup ? Puppy strangles are a more rare thing on the back but I have seen them there a stud dog owner near us had one the affected face ears and had spots on back too . Strangles require steroids .
