Coonhunters Check Your Bank Accounts

I stayed at the Richmond Indiana Econo Lodge for Autumn Oaks this year.
After looking thru my bank statements they charged my Debit card for the 1 night I stayed ( $83.99) and then they charged me again for 2 nights that I know nothing about ($167.98).
I called them this evening and the lady told me I would have to call back in the morning.
They owe me $167.98!!!!!!!!!!
Wonder how many times they do this and get away with it. So to everyone that travels to all these big hunts MAKE SURE AND CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENTS.

Even if you pay with cash you have to have a card to reserve rooms for the big hunts or you may not get one.

Talked to them this morning and they say they are refunding the $167.98

I would call credit card company and cancel payment.

I had a simular issue with the same hotel back in 2009. I reserved the room with a credit card but paid cash when I arrived but still got charged to my credit card. When I called to question the issue I also had to call back the next day. They also credited back my card. I thought it to be a honest mistake by me paying cash. But sounds like a normal occurance...

That happened to at least 5 people that I know of in 2012.

First they tried to overcharge me $20 for my reservation, then they charged my card 3 times for two nights stays. I caught it because whenever you charge my card, it sends an email to my phone.

I know of one friend that they charged over $1100 the same way. She actually works for the bank that issued the card and got that fixed immediately.

We talked with the ladies that were sitting in the show arena that represent the Chamber of Commerce and they said that they had lots of complaints and actually recommended that no one stayed there.

On the following Monday, I called the corporate office and told them what was going on. About a week later, I received an apology letter from the hotel manager that was more condescending than anything else.
