Dog not eating food?

I have a redbone that's not wanting to eat her food. When she was I pup I fed her diamond puppy food. Once she turned 1 year old I switched over to diamond large puppy food and right now I'm feeding her diamond adult dog food and she won't eat it. What should I do?

Does the dog have a fever? Any vomitting? Diarrhea? Will the dogs eat anything? Drinking?

If the dog isn't sick I would bet the food is rancid. Dogs typically won't eat rancid fat.

The dog is perfectly fine. She drinks plenty of water. She doesn't vomit her poop is normal. I'm guessing she just don't like the food taste

Switch to a better dog food.
The diamond adult dog food is junk. JMO
Try Diamond Naturals Extreme athlete.

Go to the feed store and buy some milk replacer. Used for baby calves . Get some of this and sprinkle it on the dog food, this should get it started to eating it. It's a little pricy. Good luck

What does that do for the dog?

The dog should like the milk replacer so it should eat the dog food that it does not like. A lot of breeders give this to their bitch dogs after welping pups to help with milk production. Just don't give too much to scour them.

I think the dog is telling you something is wrong with the food. Pups usually eat well.

Try Tuffy Gold or Tuffy Pro, those two are much better foods than Diamond at that general price. Pro Pac is another good one.

Diamond Naturals Chicken and Rice. VERY few feeds are as good and you will pay out of the nose for them.

Not Eating

If the pup starts loosing weight and still won't eat she could have a blockage in intestines. This happened to one of our older females. She stopped eating & lost about 11 pounds. Vet did x-rays & wanted to do surgery. Said there was a blockage ($500 spent). Took her home. Figured we would try something first. Gave her a tablespoon of mineral oil (Or a veg. oil) 2 or 3 x's a day. She passed a clump of grass about the second day. (Vet told me not to do this). We fed her gator ade & Chicken Soup for a day or so. Then back on dog food.
Good Luck with yours
