kitten coons
I live in north central Indiana and was just wondering if anyone has been treeing any kittens yet?
We are not in Mississippi the sows are denned up though it won't be long
I treed on a den last Saturday here in Ohio, I could see the sow and her kittens and their eyes wern't open yet.

I personally never see any in north ga till late july early Aug. Always here reports of them being treed soon as the leaves come out full swing and yep. I've done heard it this yr lol...

Michael we normally don't have them till end of June but we are gonna have some early this year! Heck some of the farmers around here had corn in the ground the first of march
its usually end of june before we start treeing them here in West Tennessee....cant wait though!!!

Sounds like west Tennessee is right in line with us. The bad thing is ours are gonna be in the briar thickets where the berries are right off the bat!
I have read many studies on the life cycle of coons. Their gestation period is the same as dogs--63 days or so. In my area, the coon rutt starts in late December or early January. The rutting continues to Feb and maybe March. If the sows don't get bred during that time, they will come in later. So, you could have kittens in your area at various times. Like puppies, they don't stray far from their den for 4 or 5 weeks. The older the further.
Usually, by August, the majority will be active.
