So there I was.....

I had a coon in the dogbox that someone had trapped for me. I go to cut it loose in the woods and it decided that it liked the dog box. So after much debate, I open the windows on the box and he pops right out. The coon decides he wants to run around the bed of my truck and go in the other side of the box where I had the pups at. He quickly changes his mind and makes a few laps around the dog box. after about 20 minutes of me chasing him with a stick and a pvc pipe coony decides to jump off of tailgate and immediately goes up into the bottom side of the truck and hangs out above my muffler. 45 minutes later Im bored with laying in the hay waiting for that coon to come out so I head home and he comes out at some point thru the night.


Moral of the story. If you are gonna put a coon in the dog box be prepared for your friends to laugh at you when you tell them the story the next day............. or have a better plan than I did

Thats one of the best coon hunting stories I have ever heard. LOL

The best layed out plan can always go bad. Sound pretty comical.

I have found if you turn a coon loose withen 50 ft. of a vehicle(pickup, car, 4 wheeler, etc. you will be trying to figure how to remove them from the engine compartment or someplace underneath the vehicle. How do I know? Well...... that's what a few people have told me. It's never happened to me. That I remember. LOL!

i snagged that one too...he came out attached to my thumb!!! i wish i had taken the time too put on my gloves...

Im glad that great minds think alike. I have some nice scars on my wrist from where I decided I would bring one out of a tree alive with my hands. Again not a good idea.......

My grampa always says you dont have to be crazy (stupid) to coonhunt but it certainly helps

Lol my storie goes the oppisit way i normally back into my hunting woods and release the hounds then stroll down the edge of the woods. a walker pup i was training went wide barked twice in the back of the woods moovin hard to the frount fearing off game i get to the halfway point to wait she slammed a "tree" HARD! I walk down and she had put a monster sow in my dog box!!!!! im 35 years old and hunted all my life in bout every one of the lower 48 and canada but never had i seen the likes and if I wasnt there i wouldnt believe it my self but take it for humor or truth dosent matter figured id share it with you.

been there done that, afterwards all I could do was sit back and laugh,wayne
