IF YOU SHOW A CHAMPION IN THE BENCH SHOW WITHOUT COMPETITION DO YOU GET A WIN TOWARDS GRAND?

JUST TRYING TO FINISH FANCY TO DUAL GRAND LIKE SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN YEARS AGO.

I NEED 1 MORE OF EACH. I THINK I CAN GET THE BENCH SHOW PART DONE BUT THE OTHER MAY BE TOUGHER. SHE LOST SOME FOOT WHEN SHE HAD HER LAST LITTER.

The other day I put my dog in the champion show but he was the only champion in the show, so would he get points towards grand show champion? I was told that he would not because he would have to have competition to get the points.

The only way the judge can NOT award a win is if the dog has a disqualifying fault and I really don't see that happening in the CH class.
Vicky you ain't getting away with that ROOKIE thing, I was looking through some OLD black & tan yearbooks and found a picture of you showing dogs with I believe Kelly beside you when she was just a little girl.(MANY MOONS AGO) LOL!! So I'm gonna have to diqualify you from "ROOKIE OF THE YEAR" Good luck Jordan & Jarod Vicky is outta the runnin

I believe the judge CAN withhold placings due to lack of merit. This is not yet done at our hunt bench shows. It is more common at all-breed and multi-breed shows. The AB and MB shows also have different competition requirements for wins to count.
The shows at our hunts have probably not grown to the point of withholding placements for CH points. As a judge it is a dilemma for me when I award CH points to a dog that I do not feel is deserving of becoming a CH. As the program continues to evolve and grow I think that day may come. For now I am sticking with Scotts idea of only withholding due to a DQ.

Scott, not sure if that counts since it was over 20 years ago..Oh well. I am not doin to good trying to win a trophy with you guys around. Thought the bench show might be my last chance. If I can't get Rookie of the year maybe I can get Grandma Bench shower of the year.????
