10 month old pup gets 1st and 1st

yes its true. Saturday night i took spy, 2 year old walker, and a 10 month old walker to the woods. It was misting rain and the wind was howling as a front was moving in. The pup struck first and then spy struck a few seconds later. no surprize as he isn't a first strike dog. The pup moved the track ahead slowly as the 2 year old struggled with it. after about 20 minutes and several times of barking up along the way this crazy pup fell treed with the 2 year old backing him several seconds later.
i couldn't find the coon,sort of a downer, but the tree did have a hollow spot up high, so who knows,but those 2 walkers were sure he was there.
oh and by the way this 10 month old pup comes from Hobo's line of dogs, so let's not tell him or else he may get the big head.

Hobo he looked good on that tree..video was from cell phone so the quality wasn't that great but you can still see him pretty good. he was doing the Lobo shuffle a little too.

That is great!!!!!!!!!! sure makes you feel good. I have a 7 month old blue dog out of Son that gets first and first on my black 1/12 year old pretty regular now. He did it first when he was 6 months and treed his first wild coon with no bucket or any help at 5 months. He killed his first by himself the other night when he split treed and the black dog was on a slick. So I made the black dog watch the pup kill it. He hated that becouse he would rather kill than eat. LOL

yeah i really enjoy hunting pups and seeing them progress.

My son Keith took him by hisself last night and he started off by treeing a possum. and did a good job on it too. Ha Ha. and then he treed a coon but left the tree before Keith could get to him. Keith saw the coon by following the Garmin in to where he was treeing. that possum musta smelt stronger. He said he didn'y put as much mouth on track as he has been so maybe he's settling down a little.

My blue pup went threw the possom thing but I think he is pretty broke now. He is out running the black on track pretty often now and doesn't leave a tree. He is a treeing son of a gun. We had a lot of that corn that had the mold on it and killed a lot of coon in spots. So hunting is a lot harder now and the sows being dened up with there young isn't helping much either.
By the way I done all the old stuff to possom break. Then a friend of mine invited me out to try his. WORKS WELL.

Put possom in harness, tie cord to harness, put possom is horse trailer, put dog in trailer, shock till he won't stay on the same end of trailer as possom, then get hold of cord and throw possom on dog, shock again, all shocking on HIGH, then he throws his in the dog box and throws the possom in with it, YEP then lights it up again...........all dogs I know of that has went threw the system is possom free..............LOL
I didn't put mine in the box becouse he didn't want the possom in the first place. My friend said he was allready broke but I wanted to make sure. We will see in time but he has had hard nights of finding a track and passed up possom becouse I have seen them................

Maybe he didn't like what happened to him at the possum tree? LOL

right now she gets sick everytime she is in the box. tried a short trip and she still got sick. and so far she doesn't show an interest in a cage coon. i think i'll bring one to her territory and see how she does. when she does get to barking at something she is like a machine gun.
