-- Scoring Question? (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=221717)
Scoring Question?
A,B,C struck in that order.
A is treed, B and C are treed a short distance away, but obviously split.
A leaves its tree and is handled with B and C who are treed in a hole, coon is seen.
What is A's score?
225-

The reason I hunt this bloodlines is a quote an old friend gave me,"Your either making dust or your eating it."
I'd have to say 225-, as well.
The thing that makes it tricky is that a dog thats struck, but not declared treed, on B&C's tree is eligible to get his strike points plussed since a coon was seen somewhere other than a tree.
However, B&C's tree was a "closed" tree. We KNOW Dog A was not there before the tree was closed. So, I believe he'd fall more under the rule of coming into a plussed tree, after the 5 and get his strike minused since a coon was seen.
jmo.

soon as all dogs are treed, both trees are closed. so dog moves, and can't be treed on closed tree.
Travis and John are prolly right. For the sake of argument and because it causes me pain to agree with anyone on anything, I'm gonna say dog A's score 25-. He is minused 125 for leaving his tree and plussed 100 for being handled at a place other than a tree with the coon seen. Rule 3(B), "Dogs not declared treed, strike points only". Dog A was handle at a place of refuge, coon seen and dog A was not treed at that place of refuge. Plus his strike under rule 3(b).
275 -
?
-25 IS MY SCORE ON THIS

If dog A is struck for 100 and treed for 125 and then goes to a HOLE in the ground where a coon is seen. Dog A's total score is 25-. he gets his strike points plussed because a coon was seen in a place of refuge other than a tree.

I'll go with 25-
how can he get a 100+ on his strike on a closed tree-----all dogs were treed --he said A was treed by him self ---B&C treed a short distance away --when he left and went to A&B treed ---all dogs were treed
if dogs A&B hadn't been treed I could see the 100

its 225- bc when a dog comes in to a closed tree and the coon is seen then he gets the strike minused

His score is -25. He gets his strike points plussed because dogs b & c are treed IN A HOLE. If they were on a TREE dog a would have received minus strike points for coming into a CLOSED TREE where a coon is seen.
Dogs DO NOT have to be treed at a hole to receive plus strike points when a coon is seen; even if the other dogs at the hole are called treed and the "TREE" is closed.

I dont like this rule at all. For argument sake, lets say dog A possibly had a possum or was treed slick. Dog A leaves and is minused tree points, now because he has big ears and cant hold pressure and pulls to the other dogs where a coon is seen in the ground he gets his strike points plussed?? Talk about a gift for a me tooing s.o.b.! If dogs B and C are plussed strike and tree, why would it make sense to score dog A like a coon was caught??
