-- Im requesting Prayers, for my Friend. (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=127614)

Im requesting Prayers, for my Friend.

Im almost in tears as I write this, but I feel, as if my prayers wont be eneough, and I will need help.

Im sure most of you who know me, know about my Friendship, with Mr Jody Tarver, of Lufkin Texas.

Jody is a 76 Year old Coonhunter, with many years of experience, I love this man like a brother.
Mr Tarver had a Stroke, a few days ago, he is paralized on his left side, his brain is swollen, and his arteries are swolen. He is Concious, and able to talk some, but the outcome looks grim.
Please Pray for Mr Tarver, and his Family.
I feel blessed, to have been able to hunt with him, and am honored to have him as a Friend, Ive learned so much from him. Im sad not only because I know we will probably never hunt together again, but because my dear friend, is in pain, and scared, and suffering. Im going to see him tomarrow, It will be hard, to see him in this condition, but I want him, to know, that Im by his side.
Thanks for reading this, and for the prayers, I know there will be some, and if you know Mr Tarver, he is in the Woodlands Hospital, in Lufkin Texas, in Room 321.

Thoughts and prayers

For your friend and for you. I hope he will recover well. Some stroke victims do remarkably well. I hope he will! The fact that he is concious and able to talk some is good. IF h cannot go out in the woods with you, RIchard... he should be able to See pix posted on the computer and get Phone calls to hear the song of the hounds!!! Your friendship will help him to LIVE his life to the best he can!
Best wishes for a speedy recovery, SIncerely, Heather

Thanks for the Prayers, and thoughts.
I woke up early this morning, and wanted to check this post.
I will be leaving in a couple of hours to go see him. But first,
I believe Ive posted a few Stories, one hear, about hunting with Jody before.

Here is a quick one though, that I will never forget.
a few years ago, Jody and I were hunting our hounds in the woods surrounding the Aish Byou.
Spring time, I believe, I had a Young Gyp, and he had his old Belle dog.
After along time without a strike, Belle and the young gyp, struck, and headed in yonder.
We sat on a log, listening to the hounds until they treed.
I was training the gyp for a friend, and couldnt wait to get to the tree, I got there ahead of Jody.
When I got there the Little gyp, was on a Big Huge Tree, and Belle was on a little bush, about the size of my leg.

Well I walked past Belle, not paying much attention to get to my hounds tree, and Was shining, and Blowing a Squaller, and not finding nothing in the big tree, next thing I know, Jody was standing right beside me.
He Said" Belles on a Little Bush"
I told him, "Dont worry Jody, I wont tell anyone"
Then he Grinned like a Possum, and said, "Suit yourself, Im gonna tell everyone, there is a Coon in the top of that Bush"

Shure Nuff, I turned around, and looked, and There was a Big Boar Coon, in the top of that bush. LOL
He is one heck of a Good Coonhunter, and his hound Belle, is one heck of a Coondog.

I went to see him, he looked pretty bad, but was still very concious of whats going on around him.
he had had a surgery this moring, and was kind of in and out.
He still has a little sense of humor about him though.
He said if he ever gets out of this mess he would tie us all up, and throw ants on us. LOL

I teased him a little, his theropist, was using a small electric probe to stimulate the muscles in his jaw, and cheek.
He didnt like that very much, I told her, to tell him she was gonna turn it up to level Five.
He said NO!!, she asked him why not. He said Level 5 will knock the heck out of you.LOL he kind of smiled, He knows we were messin with him. He uses a Field 70 Shock Collar, and level 5 is wide open.
I really hope and pray, that he is able to survive this, It wouldnt suprise me if he did.
Thanks for all the prayers, they seem to be helping, he is breathing alot better.
