Table Rock Mundo Jr.

Just wanted to hear from anyone who hunted with this great hound. He is a legend in his own right. He set Bench show records that I feel that will never be touched. Was running in the hunts too the night before he won most of his shows. He was a hound that died before his time at 6 years old. He in my opinion is the backbone behind the majority of the top walker lines that are still winning today in the shows. A good reproducer too! Just wanted to hear about anyone who hunted or showed against him years ago.

what shows and hunts did he win?

Junior Lassiter could tell you every step he ever took. You put Junior and him together and you had better have brought your 'A' game.

Won National grand a couple times and won national grand walker a time or two also. Was a top coondog on top of it. I would have to dig up the information for you if you would like.

Thanks Buck Houser

I thank you for the good remarks about what I feel is the most over looked player of the past there is.
When Dad and I made the trip to Cole Mc Callisters to breed Table Rock Bea II to Mundo we talked on the way down there that it could be one of the best crosses ever made. I dont know about the best but it was one of the best.
Mundo, Jr. made Gr. Nite Ch. in 11 hunts he made Gr. Ch. in 6 shows. (that use to be the least number possible).
Here goes:
Autumn Oaks.
Over All Show Ch. "81"
Nat. Gr. Breed Ch. "82"
Pairs Class Winner "82"
Nat. Gr. Breed Ch. "83"

Nat. Gr. Show Ch. "83"
Pairs Class Winner "83"
Pairs Class Winner "84"

Nat. Gr. Breed Ch. "85"
Nat. Gr. Show Ch. "85"
PKC. Nat Show "83" (pickup winner)

NKC. World Show Ch.
More State Titles than I can put in here.
He was T.W.B.F.A. Show dog of the year and Nite Hunt Dog of the Year. "84"
14th U.K.C. World Hunt "84"
13th N.K.C. World Hunt "84"
He is the only dog to be Gr. Nt. Ch. when they won Nat. Gr. Ch. at Autumn Oak.and he is the only Nat. gr. Show ch to place in the top 20 at U.K.C. World Hunt.
He won more state nite hunt titles and won most of the cast he was in, encludeing Most Walker Sect. in "84-85".
( Jarvis Umphers) got to come to these rough "Ozark Mtns." and hunt with him more than once, ask him.
IF PEOPLE THAT IS SHOWING HOUNDS would get a Seven Gen. pedigree you will find him and most of your nite hunt dogs as well.
His Nat Gr Ch titles does not show on his Ped.
I wish all of you could have seen him andf got to hunt with him.
GOD BLESS and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

i dont know about mondo jr but i hunted with mondo and he was the most over looked walker to ever get over looked . he was a coon dog and any body who ever seen him go that was not a lier would tell you he was a coon dog. i was young when i saw him go and i still think he was in the top 15 dogs i ever saw tree coons. if i could have hunted with him more i would say he would be in the top 5 dogs. i am not to much of a walker fan anymore but i still love a coon dog nomatter the breed.

I think every walker Nat. Grand Show and every World Show Ch. except maybe one or two he will be in their 6 or 7 gen. pedigree.
All of them since "85" any way.

Mundo jr

Mundo Jr is one of my all time favorite hounds. He is in the pedigree in all my dogs and I planned it that way. I will be nominating him for the treeing walker hall of fame this year. He deserves it. JMO!

Thanks for the compliments on Mundo,Jr.
One of the higlights of his wins was the first time I pulled up to a hunt after I had won the P.K.C. Nat. and the Nat. Gr. Show Ch. at Autumn Oaks just three weerks apart and saw the look on Cole McCallisters face when I pullrd in driving that new truck.
At the Ark. State Hunt year before last I got to tell Cole how much I appreciated him and thanked him for all the advice and support of me and my hounds over the years.
Cole, My Dad and Junior Biggerstaff have been a great blessing to me. ( Yes! my family my wife Joan , Mom, and the Kids.)

Thanks to everyone!
Happy New Year and God Bless.

Mundo jr

It is just a shame that this dog died at such a young age. I often wonder how much more of an impact he would have been on our breed. If my memory serves me right he died when he was 6 years old. Semen off that dog right dog right now would be nice!! He is the true meaning of a dual purpose hound. JMO.....

Angel

No not really. I had a fellow call a few years back I think that had a male dog out of her that he used on bear and cat in N.. Calif. he said he was as good a track dog as he had ever saw.
I told him he came by that natural, a Table Rock Flying Hawk , Mundo cross hound that can walk can drive a track like a dog should.

It sure could have been . We have moved since then and I lost his name, but he sure thought he had a top big game hound.

thanks Al, Buck was as good a pleasure dog as any man ever hunted. In 6yrs. I hunted Buck in 140 hunts all the U.S. and he won 120 cast.
That is the reason this female from him and the last daughter of "OLD TREE JAMMIN MUNDAR" is so important to me crossing her as close as I can to Mundo,Jr.

Eric,
Green forest is my Address, I am 6 mi. n and 10 mi. from Berryville . If you come this way come by and visit or we will go huntin.
