.

Permethrin is a good product. Company named Sawyer is one brand many use.

I treat my chaps and also my hunting vest. Let it dry and your good to go. Refresh every week or so. Some use it on clothing and it is suppose to stand up to a few washings. I just would put on any of the clothing until the product is dry on the material.

Cheyenne once had Dalton convinced that's how he never got ticks was by eating a Nexgard once a month. Thank God I was home to stop him from following dad's advice! Chey said if it didn't kill the dogs it wouldn't have killed Dalton either. That's what momas were put here for ... to keep their boys alive 🤣.

Lol. Reminds me of the time I told a young man ( twenties ) that he had worms because he was so skinny. Told him I had dog wormer that would kill the worms in him and he wanted me to give him some. Had a good laugh but did not give him the dog wormer. Boys are going to be boys including us men boys. Tell Chey that was a good one and that I got a kick out of it. Yes, Thank GOD for Mamas. Dave

I've joked about eating a dog pill or wearing a seresto collar myself. Last year I had anaplasmosis, erlichia and lyme at the same time. That little pill can't be any worse than that. Heck, it's probably better than eating McDonalds....

My husband gets the PA Outdoor News. A few months ago they had a story in it about finding a huge amount of ticks in Clearfield Co the Deer Tick Virus, it's a type of Powassan virus and is worse than Lyme's.

My friend buys me a bar of Lemon grass soap for Christmas, I use it as soon as I come in from being in the woods. I,also, spray my clothes with OFF or something similar, if I'm out of it, I use my horse fly spray.

I have good luck spraying with bug spray with deet. Just spray around bottom of my pants, waistband, wrists and neck.

Showering using head lice shampoo after being outdoors will kill any and all unseen ticks

I'm in Jefferson county, only about 15 minutes from Clearfield County. Ticks are bad news. The horse fly spray may have permethrin as active ingredient. I've never had any luck using the natural oils like lemon grass, cedar oil and such.
