Rule 7 (e)
Ad at the end of (e) this sentence.
If dog gets minused for 2 minute tree rule, time shall be called back in and the 6 minute applied to strike rule because 2 min has already passed on the 8 minute strike rule. If 6 minute catches dog at large call time out, if dog at large breaks 8 minute strike rule dogs on leash to be recast.
(Reason for adding this language at the end is because it does not line up with rule 11 (d) first sentence. How can you cut your dogs on leash into a dog that has not open?)
Scenario that could happen with rule 7 (e) and 11 (d)
3 dog cast. Dog A B strike and tree scoring tree is working, dog C treed split 300 yards deep into 5 min of the shining time of dog A and B. Pull dogs A and B off tree and judge says we are going to call time out because we are moving after we score dog C tree. Halfway to dog C the 2 minute rule gets dog C which means dog C left tree. According to rule 7 (e) time should be called back in and dogs on leash recast. But what happens if handler of dog B questions that rule with rule 11 (d)? These 2 rules goes against each other. We should not have grey areas in Nite Hunt Honor rules that could bend either way using one rule against the other. These kind of glitches can easily be cleared up by adding or deleting a few extra sentences and they need to be done.
I am nothing more than a has been, and now a want a be. But always been a rule player.
Trevor if you can give me a email of someone that I can present these rule policy recommendations please respond to my one post asking for them. It would be great to at least have one name and email contact to each breed association for all ukc hunters to be able to directly request rule/policy changes in their respective breed association.

Joining a breed association would be a good starting place. They all need support from memberships and then you would have a direct avenue to voice your ideas for changes.

Sonny what about us ukc hunters that don’t join an association, their are plenty of ukc hunters that hunt ukc but don’t join a breed assc. Besides is their a ukc mandatory rule that says you must be a breed assc member to present rule and policy changes to be considered? It seems so vague. That’s why if their could be at least 1 breed assc representative that can share his contact info/email to represent those that are your pleasure hunters that just hunts ukc once in awhile this would be a great service. I am hoping Trevor/UKC will at least private message me a contact email with rule proposals.
I will ad another rule proposal, Unsportsmanlike conduct should include in its definition graphic cussing such a Gods name in Vain, the F bombs. I hear this kind of trash talk at all KC events and it’s as unsportsmanlike as I have ever heard. We should be more respectful and mindful of others than to talk the way I hear men talk around women and kids. No sense in it.

Already rules in place to take care of things like the unsportsmanship stuff you note. You just need to be a man and call them down, and stand up and file the written complaint paperwork against the folks who can't seem to tone down. It can very easily be dealt with, but through the years i was involved, no one was willing to stand up and make something happen. That has to start with the person wanting change. As far the way the rules are changed, Its been this way for as long as i can remember. If you are real worried about your proposal getting to the table, join a breed group. You only have to join one to get it to the table of their discussion. Granted, they don't normally go much further than that unless there is a lot of support from the membership for it, and then you have the other breed groups who have to support the change to make it happen.

Thank you Mr Rock. I believe that’s exactly what I will do. In a mindful thoughtful way express the displeasure of hearing trash talk and if they continue file a complaint maybe ukc will call them out on it and they will keep their tongue more in cheek.
I appreciate your insight on the fact without the support of the membership in the breed Assc of choice that most rule proposals won’t go anywhere. I guess a man can at least join a breed Assc, voice his proposal and have the peaceful mind of at least knowing he tried to better the rules/policy.

I guess what I’m trying to lead you to is please join a association of your choice to help support them and then u have a way to voice your ideas. I know all to well that many hunters don’t belong to a breed association. As far as the unsportsmanlike conduct, I must be one of a few folks that don’t get cheated or hear this talk on a regular basis. It seems to be complained about a lot but I personally don’t see it very often at all. However Mr Johnson did give a pretty official response.

Thank you Mr. Sonny I will join a breed Assc. You have been blessed to not hear the foul language and trash talk that most men complain about. As far as cheating I believe most hunters are straight shooters, like on the job their will always be that small percentage that tries their hand at getting something out of nothing in life.

At the top of this page click on breeds. It will lead you to the breed forums. At the top of each breed forum is a sticky post on joining that breeds association. Most of those will have contact information you are looking for.
The best way to get a rule changed is to have multiple organizations on board. Write the rule as it should appear and any edits for other rules clearly and concisely. Then give the reasoning behind your proposal and how it would positively affect the nite hunt.
