All Blue Male for sale, 15 Months Old

Selling my all blue male. I would call him well started. He will hunt, track and tree his own coon and will stay. He will and has split treed and had the coon and he prefers to split. He is very independent but hunts well with the dogs we hunt him with and he will tree with other dogs but he usually gets the tree first to do so. He weighs probably 55-60 lbs. and has a good mouth. Opens well on track and has a distinct locate and trees with a bawl/chop. I haven't seen any illness at all with him on the tree, around other dogs or over a dead coon. He hunts out good with our dogs but hasn't gotten out real wide alone but he hasn't been hunted a lot alone. He handles good and hasn't been junky up to now. He is out of coon dogs that are out of coon dogs and goes back to the Morris' Blue River Boomer line of dogs. I have owned or hunted with several dogs in his pedigree. I can text pictures but please if you're not interested in him, don't waste my time or yours. He is exactly as I say above. (304)449-2240, home or (304)694-5217. First $700 gets him.

I've had several calls and texts on this male but nothing firm yet although a couple are very interested. I will be willing to drive a reasonable distance to meet someone. The weather has gotten really bad here so hunting has been put on the back burner. I have a pic or video I can send but please, if you're not really interested don't ask me to send one because where I live I have terrible cell service and it takes forever to send a pic. Thanks for all the interest......Ron

I know this thread should fade away but I just had to say something about the new owner. He and I agreed to meet up about half way to make the exchange. When my wife and I got there, it wasn't 5 minutes until he, his wife and two children pulled in. His young son and daughter immediately took to this young hound and he to them. We chatted for a bit in about 16 degree weather while they made over the dog and then we loaded ole Mercury into their vehicle and parted ways. I have zero doubt that this hound will be taken care of and given a good chance. It does my heart good to see this sport become a family affair. Thanks goes out to this fine young gentleman and his family, we need more like them in our sport....Ron

Good

That's always good when you know a dog is going to a good home because all do not. That a good feeling for sure. Good luck with the new dog. Dave

It was great meeting y'all Ron and thanks for the kind words. We are extremely excited about Merc. We have all been spending a lot of time with him in the pen getting him use to us. Our plan is to hunt him on Friday with another friend who has an older dog. I'll let you know how it goes. Y'all stay warm.

Oh, and we stopped about 5 or 6 times on the way home to make sure he was warm in the dog box. He did great.

Thanks for the update James, it was great meeting you all as well. Glad you made it home okay. I believe he'll be fine to hunt on Friday just remember until he gets to know the new dogs he probably won't honor them. He's very independent. He likes to do his own thing but once he gets familiar with the other dogs, he will go fine with them. Good luck and keep me posted. You have my Phone#.
