say you breed a female to a non paid up male. Female has pups can you then pay up the male and make the pups eligible ?

Yes
Ok then can anyone pay the make up if he is living? Or does the owner have to pay him up

The male has to be paid up for performance at the time of breeding for the pups to be eligible.

It wouldnt be smart on the sires owner part not to let you pay him up. I was told the sire had to be paid up at the time up breeding.

I think it would help the program to allow a fee to be paid to do the litter. It wouldn't affect the stud dogs because they are going to be paid up anyway. It would allow the guy that bred to a local dog to have PP pups. I think it would put a lot more money in the fund.

I paid up a sire I didn't own during the first year of the program so unless that has changed, anyone can pay up the sire.

Doesn't Sire also have to be Dna'd?
Sire has to be DNA'd. I'm sure UKC doesn't care who sends in the $$$, lol.

So now I just need to know if I can pay the sire up myself or if the owner has to pay him up
quote:I suggested this before as well $KC I think charges $125 to do a litter. Like you said it opens the door to breed to a stud dog not in the program and still putting $$ into the program
