Land between the lakes

Anyone ever hunted there? How's the hunting? Coon population? Terrain? ky side, and tn side if there's any difference. Thanks

Hunted there plenty. It is pretty rough, mostly hills with some creek bottoms. The timber is really nice,as far as coon population there is enough to tree but you need a hunting dog.

Depends are some good places but you need a big hunting dog and one broke of dillars as it is full of them.

It can be one of those places that if you win your cast you feel satisfied, but if you don't, you will say that you will never go back there. Have even threatened to quit if that's the only place I could hunt.

I hunted there some when I was stationed at Fort Campell in the late 80's. I'm sure the coon population has changed since then but it wasn't loaded with coon back then. I lost a dog one night while I was hunting there. It was getting late at night and I found a park ranger and ask him if I could drive on some of the roads that were marked "no motor vehicle traffic" and he ask me if I had a 4 wheel drive and I said yes, he said well you will need one but go ahead and drive on them. I got my dog back after daylight but you couldn't tell that I had a bright red truck either. lol.

I hunted there a few years back at the other KC World hunt and we treed 4 singles in there. Dogs were not all together but we did tree 4 singles.

Dillars in Kentucky?

Posted by high ridge on 03-14-2015 03:13 AM:

Dillars YES. BOYS LBL AINT THAT BAD. GOT GOOD BOTTOM GROUND. LAKE EDGES. IT AINT FLAT BUT ITS FAR FROM A MAN KILLER. I hunt that area and area around it all time. If you have a dog with coon on its mind you have no worries. If it just wants to roam you could have a long night
