a scope red dot combo,what is the easiest way?

this is my plans put it in a vice,fire it move the red dot to the
hole then line the cross hairs to the dot.will it work?

Should work. That's the instructions that come for sighting in with Shepard scopes.

Are you mounting 2 seperate pieces? If so why?
I put a welding glove around mine in the vice. I have to shoot it a few times till the bullets hit the same hole @ 40 feet in the shop. I have highrise mounts so I can use open sights if I ever need too. That means I have to tune the hairs up a good bit for 120 feet dead on.
I like the laser from walmart that goes in the end of the barrel, then just line them up.

set the scope then move the lazer to it
