It's really fun to watch a couple natural trail and tree hounds come out of a litter, young dogs that didn't have any lead up to the trail or tree, dogs that only were handled and taught to listen and then hunted with their parents. To see them give voice on an old lion or bear track, then make the jump and get under the tree to find them totally focused is just a real treat!
Their mother has nine little ones on her right now that were born just over two weeks ago, and I wonder if more are like these? I know I sold their sister to a guide down in southern Utah as a pup and he claims she's the real deal on bear and lion........

Hey Dennis, did you have any of those pups left, and if so how would they be for speed? They are quick as those red dogs of yours?

Buck Up or Doe Out!
I made the cross for a couple buddies of mine and they will most likely take three or four out of the litter, and I haven't promised any of the other five or six out as yet. I have had half a dozen guys ask but I figured to wait a few weeks first. If they are like this Goldie and Gunner dog they are as fast as I've seen, athletic and have a ton of hunting desire in them. A buddy down in Cedar City took a sister to these two and he claims she is a ball of fire as well on track, caught her own bear as a yearling and had been on twenty bears this spring over a month ago. But as you know a pup is only a ball of fur with hopes and dreams and shaped by the man behind them. In your case, with year round hunting and game opportunity, I'd think they'd really shine but who knows....might be culls to you?????????

Glad you enjoyed those videos Eddie, glad to send them.
Those two young dogs are my son's and he doesn't really do any hunting unless he's with the old man. Therefore those two young dogs haven't had any game unless I take them hunting, and most of the time they are at his house. What blows me away is how mature they are and the amount of drive they have for having zero hunting training and very little opportunity. Had I had these two young dogs in my yard and hammered them like I have most of my older dogs on game makes me wonder the level they'd be at now.
Truthfully they'll never see the amount of game my older dogs have seen but the old man will load them up every time he goes if they are here...........
Gone huntin.......
