need answer to this question
my wife and i presently live in south western New York state and we are seriously considering packing up and moving. She has told to decide where, this is where i need some other opinions. I think Missouri would be awesome but also Kentucky, Illinois, or Ohio are also of interest. Keep in mind I am a die hard coon hunter but also take deer huntin and turkey huntin pretty seriously also. She is a registered nurse and I'm a heavy equipment operator so we both need available employment, a home etc. Anyone that could give advice on property for sale and employment and any other advice about these areas plese comment. Thanks!!

I moved quite a bit in my day. The one thing I can tell you is that "rural" good hunting areas generally are not the best for employment. Property is cheap for a reason, nobody has a job to afford it. I lived in North Mo for a little over a year and it was nice but it was never home.
Take my advice. Move for a job, move for family, move to better yourself, but don't move really far for a better place to hunt. It just never seems that the better hunting fills all the voids of what you may be leaving behind. JMO.

Your wife is an RN so she can get a job anywhere. Find a good job and then worry about hunting secondary.
Hunting is going to be enjoyable no matter if it is a great area or not.

Thanks guys I will definately give thought to what every one of you had to say. The hunting in my area is outstanding but work sucks and we are just looking for something new. We spent yesterday on the road delivering pups in western Pa. and north east Ohio and she liked the area and the folks so this might be an option. I have hunted coon in that area and I really like it and it is less than three hours from home. Who knows? Maybe we will draw an area out of a hat and go for it, you can always come home.

On the move
I would move to the southern part.
I would move to the heel of Mo. where Tenn. is on one side and Ark. is on the other.Dont live in Mo. but I would like to move to that state.Good huntin' all around.
hey
hey i am a good friend of gerald mullins i am checking to see if any one sends him messages right now cause he was in the big snow storm so he has now power right now you can go to COUNTRYMOUNTAINJAKE and leave a message there for me to get to give to him and to answer your question you have i have lived in missouri and i now live in ky so if you have any question on where you should move you can ask me ok my husband was a truck driver for 8 years and 4 of them i was with him so i have seen a lot of places.
Brian,
I would look at Columbia ,Missouri area. your on I-70. Half way between Kansas City and St.Louis Close to Missouri River, close to hills and the Ozark Mts. close to rolling and flat lands. close to many a coon hunting club. Your wife would have University of Missouri Hospital, Boone Hospital and VA hospital. There is always road construction going on new and repaving.Missouri pays prevailing wages. It's not a right to work state. Also Missouri Department of transportation is always hiring part time and full time worker's if your looking for a State job. And you can still find a decent country home and five acres for around 40- 80 thousand dollars.
