you have to have garmin mapsource and google earth down loaded onto your computer. then
d/l the tracks from your astro to mapsource. then at the top of your screen you will see a tab called "view". click on it and at the bottom you will see "view in google earth". click on it and it will bring your track up on google.
pm if you need more help.

Jeff,
I have the latest addition of google earth, and here is what I do. First, do you have a sidebar menu (mine shows up on the left side of the screen) in google earth that shows the search, places, and layers? If not, click on "view" drop down up top, and then click "sidebar" and that should open the sidebar menu if you don't already have it.
Once you have the side bar menu, and once you have a track loaded into google earth, look under the "places" part of the sidebar menu, there are a bunch of things with boxes checked or unchecked depending. Look for "Temporary places" and under "Mapsource" then "tracks" and under that "points." If you find the "points" box, and uncheck it, that should remove all the white boxes you are referring to.
If you can't find what you need, you may need to double click on each heading (for example, the mapsource" heading, to expand it to see what it below it.
Also, if you find the "points" box, you can right click on points and then pick "properties." Then click on the "style, color" tab and you can click on the "share styles" button (or something like that, I can't remember for sure) and it will let you decrease that scale of the track icons, and change their colors. This is useful because you can keep the points showing up on google earth but just make them smaller so they don't take up so much room on the display.
thanks alot copper thats what i needed!!!!!
If you have the latest Google Earth program, you can quickly transfer all data from the GPS by going to GPS on the TOOLS menu at the top.
I've been trying to figure out how to transfer points from Google Earth back into a Garmin. If anyone knows how to do that, then I would be all ears.....

Wouldn't it be great if the Garmin or any GPS came up in Google Earth format....
