Coon Season And Young Dogs.......
im excited and ready for season reason being i have 2 good bred young dogs im going to hunt and with a little luck they will be turning the crank before long..
one is out of mainstreet max x phycho salley 6 months old he is a super smart pup the other a 10 month old female out of cody jar she will already go and tree a little dont think it will take her long......if you have a young dog that you have high hopes for this season lets here about it.........
I'm hunting a 6 month old Walker male sired by GrndNt Cold Sweat. This pup has been out four nights and ran and treed with my 3-year old female all four nights. One night he went deep with my female and stayed treed with her for at least 30 minutes. The last night he caught a coon under a wood pile and worked that coon hard. When I pulled my pup out he was cut up and bleeding and wanted more. This pup looks to be a natural little coonhound. Time will tell.
I forgot to mention the one night he grabbed a porky and got quilled all over and another night he trashed on something for a short fast run. He's not perfect for sure.

I will brag for my husband, he has three Cameron bred Bluetick pups he is going to start hunting with this winter. He is cougar hunting with them. They are coming along great in their training, and have some real natural ability.
I've got two 18 month old littermates who's grandfather is FC GrNc GrSc Stone Creek Avalanche... they are both showing great promise. The female has won a couple local hunts and shows this summer. She puts a coon up just about every night I take her out. She was a natural starter at 10 months old and had 1 coon until this season. She has shown some great promise. Now that season is in and I am shooting some down to her, she is getting better each night. The male is coming along nicely too, but he is nowhere near the dog the female is YET. Every coon I shoot down to them seems to get them going even more. Just the other night I turned them out and they ran a real nice track, both located nicely and when I got to the tree, they were split about 50 ft apart, both with the coon. I was very happy. The other night my tracker went bonzi and my female stayed put on the tree by herself for over 2 hrs until I got to her (with the meat). She showed a lot from that the other night. I can't wait to see what kind of dogs they are like at the end of this season.
Hope everyone with young dogs has some good luck this season!!!

with all the females that have been listed with pups on the way this year you would think there was a few more.........those listed sound good,jculler8 sounds like yours have what it takes............
I have 3 pups around here off of Loose I am going to start this season. 2 are around 7 months old, the other just turned 4 months old. The 4 month old is as big as the 7 month olds. The older ones are off of RubyII(Huck X ol Ruby), the younger one is off of ol Ruby(Durango X Lucky).
All 3 of them have been out 1 time each. The 4 month old wasnt found for 20 hours the night she went. When I cut them, Crank headed one way and she headed the other. Never saw her agian untill the next evening.
