What age can I start kennel barking training?
At what age can I hook a e collar or bark collar on a pup?
I have a 3 month old and ever time I pull in drive way she throws a heck of a fit.
me too
I have a three month old pup as well and she does the same thing. I would never think about putting an e collar or bark collar on her She to me is simply to young. Pups are a lot smarter than you think. I have simply taken my hat off and swatted her on the mouth and told her no. Now every time she starts all I have to do is tell her no and she stops. You might try something simple first just not a shocker.

You should break them as soon as it starts. E collars aren't the best especially on young ones

I saw something advertised one time that when the dog barks it gives off a noise that only dogs hear and is supposed to make them stop. I have never seen one and always wondered if it would work. My only reservation would be every time my dogs hear a siren they howl so why would a sound stop them. Probably doesn't work but I always wondered.

6 months usually- but I just had to put a bark collar on a 4 month old because I didn't want neighbors upset... Both this pups parents are here, and quiet.. but this lil girl is NOISY!

The younger the better
I spray my pups with the hose and tell them no as soon as they start barking At me when I'm bringing there food usually they are about 6 weeks old.
But I did get 2 pups from Ed mead years ago that the water didn't work they just bit at the water hahahHa just go's to show that every dog is different

I've heard 6 months or it could make him aggressive when he's older

Differnt strokes for differnt folks. I dont care if their 6 weeks old im not listening to no dog bark in the kennel. Theirs 7 settings on a bark collor. Never had no problems with it. I suggest u get the pup out during the day and take him for walks not only will it help him run off some steam but it will help him learn when its ok to bark and when its not. One thing i cant stand is a dog with food, water, and a good bed standing at the door barkin its mouth out!! U guys must have nerves of steal!!!

Right on Ole Hoss. Spare the rod and spoil the pup!! I have a three month old in the kennel right now that knows what "be quiet" means and is a well socialized and outgoing pup.
Everything within reason. Don't need to whale on one or light him up, but a swat or a light touch with an E Collar is going to set the stage for a hound you can do something with.
Real big fan of the garden hose as mentioned earlier in this thread.
