The Outlaws of Southern MI

All I've ever read about most of my life is the promised land of cooners located in Southern Michigan. So, after teaming up with some of these outlaw fellas I begged my way up to the home of Jesse Boley and Taylor Case. A couple fellas, despite the funny accent, would line right up to the definition of the southern hospitality I'm accustomed to here in my corner of NC. Even Mr. Maxey himself rode up for a night to show off Mac a little and check out what each of us had been working on for many months now.

We left little darkness unused for 3 nights straight with all but perfect weather with exception to one wet and windy night. Mine and Shane's Jinx female off Breanna performed extremely well splitting often treeing, and even catching, plenty of them fat, corn fed coons. Jesse's NTCH Ridge and Taylor's NTCH Duds also put numerous coon up and we got to check out some youngins known as Addy and Daddy, both of which didn't disappoint.

But, the biggest highlight to me was how every fella treated my son Eli like their own, joking around and letting him man the rifle. It may seem like I think too much, maybe so, but stuff like that will stick with my son for a long time and helped fan those flames inside of him to hopefully help carry this sport forward for many many more years.

So, thanks again fellas, we had a blast and we WILL be back!

That looks like a good trip. You're right he will probably always remember that night.

Why do they call them "the Outlaws"?

No clue! Maybe because I was there along with my 9 year old they were on their best behavior. I mean Jesse did have us trespass about a dozen times, and Taylor, well Taylor clearly has a love for offgame (we scratched him for it), and Shane had this light so bright a plane began its decent before it realized it was just him, but other than that the fellas were pretty square.

I enjoyed getting together with all you fellas. Saw some real nice prospect and some great work by the older dogs. We will have to do it again!

Good Looking Dogs

Hide hunting with friends is what makes this sport fun. Looks like you had a great time. Michigan is definitely a coonhunters paradise.

Maybe Jesse and Taylor should start and guiding service... I would probably book a hunt. How much you guys charge per night?

I'm glad you all had a good time.
